How might you begin to understand Geraldine’s “barely audible monotone,” her attentiveness, and her startled and jumpy behavior?
Geraldine is a nine-year-old, little girl being interviewed by a CAC forensic interviewer, of what she witnessed; Geraldine’s father killing her mother. Geraldine was suffering from shock; her emotional behavior was soft spoken, inattentive, and easily startled and jittery while she was interviewed. Geraldine will most likely suffer from Post-Traumatic Stress from this occurrence.
She will need intensive therapy to help her to recover from this horrific trauma experience.
