Battle of France script

What took place?
The Battle of France (Fall of France) began on 10 May 1940. The battle was the German invasion of France and the low countries.

The battle was broken up into two main operations, Case yellow and case red. The first operation was case yellow. The Germans went through the Ardennes and pushed along the Somme Valley to cut off and surround the allies that had proceeded through Belgium. When British, Belgian and other forces were pushed back to the sea by the German operation the British decided to evacuate the British Expeditionary Force and many of the French divisions at Dunkirk in Operation Dynamo.

Walther mainly served as commander in chief of the German Army before World War 2 in 1938 and until 1941. He had a big role in the Battle of France and oversaw the German military campaigns in Yugoslavia and Greece. Because of his big contribution in the Battle of France he was promoted to a field marshall on 19 July 1940.

Gerd von Rundstedt was born on December 12 1875. He was a German field marshal during world war two. His family have had a long military tradition. In 1982 Gerd von Rundstedt entered the imperial German Army and rose the ranks until world war 1 began. During world war 1 he served as a staff officer.

At the beginning of world war two Gerd von Rundstedt was recalled to be a commander of Army Group south in the Polish campaign. He commanded group A in the invasion of France and was later promoted to field marshal during the 1940 field marshal ceremony.

He was a German field marshal who was in the German Army in the Second World war. When he was 8 years old Fedor went to study at the Potsdam and Gross Lichterfelde Military Academy. He excelled in his studies of modern languages, maths and history. When he was 17 years old he became an officer candidate in the Imperial Foot Guards Regiment. A year later he got given an officer's commission. In 1905 he married Mally von Reichenbach and they have a daughter together. Three years after his marriage he attended the war academy in Berlin and after a year's study he joined the ranks of a general staff. He then joined the patriotic army
