...I think the only appropriate behavior from the Altamont concert was from the musicians. The audience demonstrated bad behavior at the Altamont concert. They were fueled by LSD and amphetamines and became very antagonistic and unpredictable. They attacked each other, the Angels and the Musicians. LSD is a drug that makes you hallucinate and amphetamine is a drug that makes you act crazy. Drugs are very bad and at a concert can really make you do things that you will regret. One member from the audience went really crazy. His name was Meredith Hunter. He tried to get on stage but was denied by the Hells Angels. He then came back with a revolver and was attacked by several members of the crowd, including the Hells Angels. The Hells Angels did some good and some bad. The eventually saved a lot of people when they took out Meredith Hunter when he had the revolver. The Hells Angels demonstrated some bad behavior when they got drunk at the concert. They punched the lead singer Marty Balin of the Jefferson Airplanes and knocked him unconscious. They also hit Denis Jewkes, a member of a local band, in the head with an empty beer bottle. She suffered a skull fracture from the incident. Lastly, when Meredith Hunter attacked them, I thought they over killed him. It was good that they stopped him and got the gun away. Jenness asked students to guess how many beans there were in a jar,they were then asked to discuss in groups. Lastly they were asked to give their estimates again, individuals estimates tended to converge to the group norm.It seems reasonable that when in an ambiguous situation (were the answer isn't obvious ) we look to others to get some ideas about behaviour . Jenness's research is limited as he specifically asked participants to produce a group estimate rather than just observing if they would produce group estimates.
