This painting, known as “The Archaeologists” was painted by Giorgio De Chirico in 1968. It is Oil on Canvas Painting.

Within this artwork there are many objects. There are two human figures sitting down on what looks to be a concrete bench next to each other. These two humans do not have faces but have some kind of string wrapped around their faces. The humans look to be Roman and have a Toga wrapped around their bodies. Within their body areas are statues and buildings of what looks to be Rome.
The two human figures are the focal point of the artwork. The background is quite plain so that it does not draw too much attention to the background; this also gives the artwork depth. The human figures have form which makes them
