Section I: Facebook Social Ads Exposed
Facebook Social Ads work virally, but rather than being spread in a random fashion, they are placed on Facebook member pages, based on their profile data – which can make them a powerful sales aid for marketers – especially in this current decade, where mobile devices are now replacing personal computers at the rate of 4 – 1. However, like any data system spread via the net, there are rules, restrictions and random factors that can greatly inhibit or enhance their success. In this special report, we will explore the ins and outs of Facebook Social Ads. What this report is not… It is not a complete guide to Facebook Ad Creation. Instead, it focuses more on the nuances you will not pick up from Facebook’s easy “Advertising Creation” walk-through… and important drawbacks to watch out for.

How Facebook Social Ads Work
Marion loves horseback riding, and publicly says so in her Facebook profile. A successful Equestrian Center wants to promote its children’s summer camp, so it purchases a Facebook Ad. Facebook uses Insight, a powerful demographics tool, to place the Ad via a feed on Marion’s profile, after extracting the information that she has 3 children, is passionate about all things equestrian and lives within a close geographical radius of the

Glenn Luther Martin

...Glenn Luther Martin 1886-1955 Joel Alm 9-24-2014 Research Paper-1 AVMA 2211 Glenn Luther Martin was a self-taught pilot, youthful businessman and an inventor whose bombers and flying boats played important roles in WWI, WWII, and for part of the Cold War. Martin was born on January 17, 1886 in Macksburg, Iowa and passed away on December 4, 1955 in Baltimore, Maryland (Encyclopedia). Glenn founded the Glenn L. Martin Company in 1912. In 1916, he merged his company with the original Wright Company, forming the Wright –Martin Aircraft Company. He ended up leaving the Wright-Martin Aircraft Company and founded a second Glenn L. Martin Company in 1917. After his passing, his second company would eventually in 1995 merge with the Lockheed Corporation, forming Lockheed Martin which is a major aerospace and defense contractor still today (Kansas Wesleyan). At the age of two, Martin’s family moved to Kansas so that his father could run a wheat farm (Kansas Wesleyan). Four years later Martin showed a great interest for kites and eventually started designing his own kites. Despite criticism from his friends, people noticed Martin’s kites and would pay him twenty five cents to build one for them. Along with his obsession for kites, Martin would find innovative ways to make everyday activities more interesting. He began using sails for everything: ice skates, wagons, and his bicycle. The Wright Brother’s first flight in 1903 caught Martin’s attention. He was fascinated with their...

His data on the subject came from other conservative author such as Dinesh Sousa who wrote that racism in the” Race should not serve as the basis for public policy making” Also article by TV host Glenn Beck, the writing of these individual in the matter of race is so vague and so terrible it is the main reason I wanted to write about this. This country fought the civil war to declare freedom for all men of color(that war ended in April, 1865) so base on that we should have been free and able to vote for 118 years I can remember stories from my great-grandmother about how she, and her family were treated. If these individuals understood the heritage of where we came from, the youth of America as far as a nation, you can understand how racism still is past down from one generation to another. When power of the vote and the ability to elected the first African America president, and the changing demographic in this country this next election will be the first when Whites America will be the minority. Enough

...'Enough,'' a jarring thriller packed to the gills with cheap shocks, suggests the emergence of a new Hollywood subgenre: the male yuppie horror film. The unspoken premise behind it suggests that a new generation of cold young men has arisen who are so obsessed with fattening their portfolios and chiseling their abs that they have forgotten to grow souls. And yes, that premise probably contains a tiny grain of truth. Out of this grain, however, the movie has conceived a caricature even more monstrous than Glenn Close's voracious Medusa in ''Fatal Attraction.'' On a certain tit-for-tat level, ''Enough'' might even be seen as a feminist revenge for the stereotyping in ''Fatal Attraction,'' even though both films were written and directed by men. The movie, which opens today nationwide, also exploits an ugly undercurrent of class warfare. Its star, Jennifer Lopez, plays a spunky working-class woman suckered into marriage with a rich yuppie master of the universe who brutally abuses her. In the movie's climax, she faces down her husband in one-on-one combat, armed with brass knuckles and fortified by a crash course in martial arts. Will honest working-class pluck and self-reliance triumph over spoiled upper-class privilege? You don't have to ask. Throughout, Ms. Lopez holds the screen in a star performance that has less to do with acting than with embodying a forceful, streetwise woman who stands up for herself. The movie's yuppie monster, versions of which you may have...

Chicanary

...Socialization of Confidentiality: Axiom or Chicanery In today’s culture sequestration of information has become pervasive. It is prevalent on a daily basis, whether from social networking sites, search engines, or Internet Service Providers. There primary basis of procuring information is HTTP cookies, flash cookies, and ever cookies. In his October 2014 lecture “Why Privacy Matters”, Journalist and New York Times best seller Glenn Greenwald disputes the notion that aggregated observation only affects those divulging in acts of misconduct. He dissertates that the internet has oscillated into an anomalous realm of accumulative, unsystematic vigilance. There is a prevalent tendency that originates in this controversy, amidst a society who is distressed with accumulative surveillance, which states “there is no real harm that comes from this large-scale invasion because only people who are engaged in bad acts have a reason to want to hide and to care about their privacy (Greenwald para.3).” Throughout his speech, Greenwald creates an ethical appeal to the audience as he focuses on innate ethos. Greenwald introduces the notion. "I don't really worry about invasions of privacy because I don't have anything to hide (Greenwald para. 6).” In his May 2011 article “Why Privacy Matters Even if You Have ‘Nothing to Hide’”, Author and Law Professor Daniel J. Solove disputes that the controversy surrounding the socialization of confidentiality involves more than...

Personal Narrative: The Day I Portrayed The Brown Creepers

...This past week, the same day I photographed the Brown Creepers in my last post, I was making the trip home after work, when my good karma finally paid off. I was starting to change lanes to turn when I saw this on the roadside. [singlepic id=1093 w=450] I often have trouble distinguishing a Cooper's Hawk from a Sharp-shinned without putting some work into it, but this one was large enough to remove any doubt. This was a Cooper's and likely a female since they are larger than males. And this was a large Cooper's.  Still running 70 mph, I couldn't stop in time to pull over. That meant turning around, driving a mile back and making another pass. I was ready this time, stopping at a distance, shooting the photo above before moving closer.  This was the first Cooper's I'd ever "worked," so I didn't have any idea what to expect. Do they sit and let you approach or are they like Red-tails, so skittish that it seems they bail if you so much as think of pulling over.  The road was busy, including too many 18-wheelers for my comfort, so I had to wait for an opening to creep down the shoulder to get closer. Plus, there's a Highway Patrol office a half mile back towards town and the last thing I needed was a trooper getting after me for driving on the shoulder. Close enough to shoot through the passenger window, I killed the engine and stopped. I had the camera halfway up and the hawk seemed like she was going to stay put. But as she appeared in the viewfinder and the autofocus engaged...

...NASA back in 1962, was the cornerstone of space exploration not only for the United States, but for the world altogether. The success of this space mission set the stage for many other spaceflights during the 1960’s, including NASA Projects Gemini and Apollo, after reaching some groundbreaking discoveries. John Glenn had a fascination with airplanes from a very early age and spent quite some time constructing intricate toy models while he was growing up in Cambridge, Ohio. After graduating New Concord High School, he attended Muskingum College where he received a Bachelor of Science as well as an honorary Doctor of Science degree; both of which were in the field of Engineering. Shortly after the Pearl Harbor attack, Glenn went on to enroll in the Naval Aviation Cadet Program in 1942 and upon his graduation in 1943, he commissioned in the U.S. Marine Corps. During World War II, John flew 59 missions in the South Pacific and surpassed that record after flying a total of 63 combat missions during the Korean War. As a result, John received six Distinguished Flying Cross awards along with several other pilot decorations. In 1957, after serving in the Korean War, John Glenn was appointed to a naval test pilot program where he completed the world’s first supersonic transcontinental flight from Los Angeles to New York in just 3 hours and 23 minutes. This mission, later nicknamed “Project Bullet,” secured Glenn’s reputation as one of the country’s top test pilots, increasing his popularity...

...refer to the set of criteria listed in the Expertise, Accuracy, and Reliability (EAR) test explained by Robert A. Harris in his book titled Using Sources Effectively. The Expertise section of the EAR test is when one must check the credibility of the author. Harris stresses the importance of proving the credibility of an author by determining if the author is, “an authority in the area, an expert, through education, experience, or both?” (Harris 25) An author with any one of those qualifications instantly adds credibility to one’s paper, rather than just any regular Joe off the street who happens to have Internet access. The above-mentioned article, “Stoplight Traffic Cameras: Why is Big Brother Ticketing You?” is an article written by Glenn Harlan Reynolds, a law professor at the University of Tennessee. Mr. Reynolds graduated from the University of Tennessee with his Bachelors Degree in 1982, and then proceeded to receive, in 1985, his Judicial Degree from Yale University; this...

Cambodian Genocide

...Elliot is twenty-two years old. He is not married and has no children. A child of divorce and a nail-biter, he is the only one sitting on the Cobblestone park bench tonight, hugging his knees like Glenn Beck in a crowd “too high for heaven” at Woodstock, some forty years earlier. He is depressed because every girl he has tried to connect with has rejected him. He is taking college courses and, in the meantime, has a job pushing around various fluids of different color and aroma with a splintered mop. He is tired and has lost sight of his last handful of adventures in what is surely the twilight of his youth. Of course we have all felt like Elliot at least once, and I, along with the nurse’s staff, have felt blessed to be in the presence of each of you. And I know that this has been a lengthy stay for some of you, but I can only hope that your discharge will be expedient and convenient and that you can resume with your lives. Since, you have chosen to take part in the new study, I will expect to be getting some follow up e-mails within the next few weeks. One thing I can say about this medication is that I know it makes people feel like they can do what they saw as so stressful before. A buddy of mine was telling me the other day, at my favorite golf course in Michigan, how he had a client whose sister’s BFF was part of a similar study. Her worries about filling out a bikini top quickly turned into a desire to fill out job applications in a matter of days. This is the same girl...

Concern

...The Great Divide "What are we doing today?" David called and asked the minute he got off work. As he raced his old green car down the interstate to come to my house, Richard and I waited. This became a daily occurrence mainly because we had more fun with each other than anyone else. We were inseparable the whole summer. "David, we are going swimming," I usually responded because I had just moved into a house with a pool, and it always felt as hot as hell outside. His body was not nearly as muscular as Richard's, but he didn't care because his looks weren't his first concern. If his jokes or his stupid dance moves made you laugh, then he would do them all day long. So, with his orange swimming trunks on, he did a belly flop almost everyday, and almost everyday it made me cry with laughter, and that's all he really wanted. Considering it was two boys and I, the whole eating healthy was no concern for them. Swimming would make them feel like they were starving, so David always suggested Gatti's. He engulfed about ten pieces faster than I could chew one, and he usually regretted that decision shortly after. With our stomachs too full to suck in, we all had one thing on our mind; sleep. The three of us pilled into his old green car and drove to Richard's. He had most of the upstairs to himself, so there was plenty room for us to be the bums we were. "Ya'll, I'm sick of being worthless, let's do something," he would always say after we had acted like bums for a couple of days straight...

Stairway to Heaven

...Stairway to Heaven There's a lady who's sure all that glitters is gold And she's buying a stairway to heaven. When she gets there she knows, if the stores are all closed With a word she can get what she came for. Ooh, ooh, and she's buying a stairway to heaven. There's a sign on the wall but she wants to be sure 'Cause you know sometimes words have two meanings. In a tree by the brook, there's a songbird who sings, Sometimes all of our thoughts are misgiven. Ooh, it makes me wonder, Ooh, it makes me wonder. There's a feeling I get when I look to the west, And my spirit is crying for leaving. In my thoughts I have seen rings of smoke through the trees, And the voices of those who stand looking. Ooh, it makes me wonder, Ooh, it really makes me wonder. And it's whispered that soon, if we all call the tune, Then the piper will lead us to reason. And a new day will dawn for those who stand long, And the forests will echo with laughter. If there's a bustle in your hedgerow, don't be alarmed now, It's just a spring clean for the May queen. Yes, there are two paths you can go by, but in the long run There's still time to change the road you're on. And it makes me wonder. Your head is humming and it won't go, in case you don't know, The piper's calling you to join him, Dear lady, can you hear the wind blow, and did you know Your stairway lies on the whispering wind? And as we wind on down the road Our shadows taller than our soul. There...

Music of the Heart: a Documentary Proposal

...Music of the Heart: A Documentary Proposal I would like to submit a proposal for a documentary about a museum that would focus on the blind visitors. As a replacement for the traditional visual arts museum or participating in a touch tour, it would be a museum of music history. When an individual visits the museum, they should be able to enjoy the experience with minimal limitations. The group of visitors will experience the stimulation of their audio sense and will be asked to share what they can see in their mind while music is being played, which would be remarkable to be captured on film. In this proposal, I will discuss the purpose of this documentary, what the exhibits will include, and how I will promote this film. I have already selected the group, and location is set in Chicago. I am pleased to share this idea, and it will be one of my finest documentaries to date. It is my intention to entertain and educate. This documentary will be different from what is already involving arts and the blind community. The sense of hearing is believed to be heightened when an individual is visually impaired; therefore, I feel that the experience of a music museum would be an exciting experience for the documented visitors. The group will be led by a guide that will direct them to the exhibits and inform them the history of the featured artist or instrument. There are people in society that demonstrate their ignorance when it comes to the blind community, and assume their lack of vision...
