HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENT
1. State the administrative agency which controls the regulation. Explain why this agency and your proposed regulation interest you (briefly). Will this proposed regulation affect you or the business in which you are working? If so, how?
The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) issued a new Scientific Integrity Policy to safeguard the quality and integrity of the Agency's scientific and scholarly activities. This agency is made for the International Development and is in favor of the people around the world which makes me glad and this fact interests me. This proposed regulation will not be affecting me or my work place. It would be a general public benefit which would make everyone feel at ease.
2. Describe the proposal/change.
Spurred by a 2009 directive from President Obama and subsequent guidance from the White House, this policy articulates the principles regarding how scientific and scholarly activities are supported and carried out, and how research findings are used and disseminated.
Specifically, the policy outlines guiding principles for the entire Agency that will:
• Protect the scientific process from misconduct and from inappropriate influence;
• Promote access to scientific and technical information;
• Maintain a highly skilled technical and scientific staff;
• Convene and use federal advisory committees ethically and transparently; and,
• Ensure quality, methodological rigor, and ethical standards in all USAID-funded research activities.
Many of these principles already align with the high integrity that USAID staff maintain when conducting scholarly activities. The intention of this policy is to capture and employ these best practices throughout the Agency and introduce new ways that USAID can enhance the use of science for development.

I feel bassinets are ok to put a baby in for short periods of time, nap time and then you should watch them the whole time period, but not for long periods of time. Will this proposed regulation affect you or the business in which you are working? It wouldn’t affect me directly but any future grandchildren I have and it would make me feel more secure in knowing there were better safety measures in place to ensure less fatalities and injuries 2. This means you will submit two attachments to the Week 2 Dropbox: (a) a Word document with the questions and your answers and (b) a copy of the proposed regulation you used for this assignment. (10 points) The legislation I chose to research is the “Protecting Academic Freedom in Higher Education Act” (H.R. 2117). This bill seeks to repeal a recent rule change by the U.S. Department of Education, which federally defines a credit hour as used by all institutes of Higher Education. It would also repeal the so-called state authorization regulation which significantly expands and complicates existing federal requirements for an institution to legally operate within a state I chose this legislation because as a leader in Higher Education the statute directly impacts my and all schools in the country; unduly burdening us and limiting the rights of our students. 2. Describe the proposal/change. (10 points) In October 2010, the U.S. Department of Education (DOE) released a package of regulations to purportedly improve the integrity of the student financial aid programs. Two of these so-called “program integrity regulations” – the credit hour and state authorization regulations – inject the......

Include interest rates, inflation, and unemployment in your analysis. The news informs everyone on a daily basis that the United States has the largest economy and that it is looking to be in great shape since four years ago. To some Americans it seems otherwise. The unemployment rate in 2007 was 4.6% compared to unemployment rate in 2012 at 7.5%. The U.S inflation rate ended in October 2012 after twelve months was 2.16% which is 0.11% higher than the one in September. The U.S inflation forecast consists of apparel, education and communication, energy, food and beverages, housing, medical care, recreation, and transportation. The U.S Government’s inflation economics policy tries to control inflation. High inflation and negative inflation (deflation) can have damaging effects on the economy. 2. Propose two (2) strategies that the federal government could implement that would encourage people to spend more money in order to create employment opportunities. Two strategies that the federal government could implement that would encourage people to spend more money in order to create employment opportunities is to give free college training to low income and unemployed. I will talk about and give a full break down of the process of envisioning and designing a film, which includes the key players of what it takes to design a film. My film of choice I will talk about and give examples for is Zoolander (2001). Week 2 Assignment

...Week 2 Assignment Dianglio V. Baylor September 9, 2014 Week 2 Assignment The film that I selected for this week’s assignment is 2007 film “Knocked Up”. The film starred actors Seth Rogen, Katherine Heigi, Paul Rudd, Leslie Mann and Jason Segel. The genre of this film is considered to be a romantic comedy. Romantic comedies are considered to be the least flexible of all the genres of film. There are a number of reasons that have been identified as reasons that this genre is lacking. The plot of a romantic comedy involves romance that leads to comic situations. In recent years the film genre has been identified genericly with a female protagonist finding love against all odds with a course of unconventional comic situations along the way. There can also be a variation of the basic plotline, instead of the typical romance where the two lead characters end up falling in love there could be a mismatch in love affair with the primary character and a secondary character. In the romantic comedy genre one of the reasons cited is that the scope of what this genre seeks to accomplish is limited. According to the textbook the romantic comedy is limited in scope of what it attempts to accomplish – brining two people together. There are many ways for this to happen, and many comedic obstacles to be placed before them , but the goal remains the same (Goodykoontz, B. & Jacobs C. P. 2011). The struggle that is present within this genre is for a......

Hard Count Process How long should this process take to complete for 300 silver dollar slot machines? Assume that each slot machine has an average of 750 silver dollars when its emptied 10min weight scales + 7min per bucket(300 machines) +[ (750 per bucket * 300 machines)/25 per roll] / 10 rolls per min + (9000 rolls/40roll per can)(5min to fill and stack) + 5 min to record on report + (9000 rolls/40roll per can)(2 min per can verification) = 10+2100+900+1125+450+5 = 4590mins / 60 = 76.50 hours 3. Purchasing a second coin wrapping machine would enhance the hard count process. They would be able to complete twice as many rolls per minute and you can complete the process in half the time. With a new machine the process would have to be revised so you don’t have jams in the conveyer belt. I am not sure that purchasing this machine would be the most desirable because technology is advancing and developing and such a rapid rate that casino’s may want to look into upgrading the actual slot machines. 4. ...Week 2 Homework – GM520. By Sam Jhonson 1. The Federal Trade Commission and the Federal Reserve Board was seeking amendments to the Risk-Based Pricing Rule that would require creditors, as of July 21, 2011. I am starting my own business so this interests me as to how the credit scores are reported to the consumers. 2. The proposal makes the creditors to disclose the credit score information to the consumers when a credit score is used in setting or adjusting credit terms. Also consumers who receive the notice can obtain a free credit report to check the report’s accuracy. As an alternative to providing the notice, the Rule permits creditors to provide credit applicants with a free credit score and information about their score. 3. The agencies should provide additional information related to credit scores to the risk-based pricing notices. Specifically, the risk-based pricing notice include an explanation that the consumer does not have a single credit score, and that the credit score may vary with the consumer reporting agency and a particular credit product for which the consumer applied. Most consumers need this information to help them understand why they are receiving a particular score that may not be the same as a FICO score. 4. All the comments must be received by 04/14/10 and comments on he Paperwork Reduction Act analysis set forth in Section III.A. of this Federal Register notice must be received on or before May 16, 2011. 5. a. 1. November 09, 2011 October Green Strategies Ohio Legislative Roundup Two new bills have been introduced that would affect the State of Ohio’s renewable portfolio standard (RPS) and the advanced energy portfolio standard (AEPS), currently at 12.5 percent each by 2025. Below is a brief summary of each bill. Senate Bill 216 Senator Kris Jordan (R-Powell) Senate Bill 216 proposes to repeal all of Senate Bill 221 that provides for renewable or advanced energy standards in Ohio. In his co-sponsor request, Senator Jordan says his bill, “will seek to put government back in check, leave free market decisions to the free market and work to make Ohio a more business friendly and fiscally sensible state.” The Senator does not detail how repealing the state’s standards will affect prices of energy in Ohio, and the bill simply removes provisions allowing for the RPS and AEPS from SB 221.
