The government entity that I would describe as the most charismatic would most definitely be our President, Barack Obama. The man walks with a poise and exudes a confidence worth of a king. He is down to earth and has a kind spirit that draws people to him. During speeches and televised events, he speaks with authority as he effortlessly and precisely presents his plan for our country. His earnest demeanor when he meets with those of us whom are regular people. He sings, he laughs and jokes. He is emphatic in his endeavors to prove his capability in running our country. I find him to be a very refreshing presence in a very troubled economy.\
The changes in the individuality of white collar employees' working conditions have changed largely due to the increase in the use of technology. The change from basic word processing programs to that of intricately designed computer systems are a large factor in this development. Where white collar once looked down on the seemingly simplistic occupations of blue collar workers, that simplicity is now a little envied by those white collar workers whose jobs have become a slightly more difficult ironically by technology that was created to make their jobs easier.
White-collar workers are less likely to join a union because:
1. Perception of manual workers- white-collar workers feels the work performed by blue-collar workers are looked down upon and not seen as prestigious or important.
2. The sense of superiority felt by white collar workers over their blue collar counter parts- they feel that the functions and products of their occupations are more important than those of blue collar workers.
3.Opportunity for advancement- possibilities of advancing into management positions is more likely in white-collar occupations. Also, the more appealing idea of having a salary instead of earning wages takes away from the attractiveness of being a part of a union. Though the possibilities of advancement are not always great, the possibility of being able to advance is still far more appealing than joining a union.
4. Educational achievements- blue-collar workers are perceived to have considerably less education than white-collar workers because most blue-collar occupations lack positions in which education would be a huge benefit.
5. Work environments- Modes of dress, cleanliness of workspaces, and job locations play a big part in the decision of white-collar workers to deter from joining unions. Being able to make decisions for one's own career path as opposed to having to have permission from a collective group also falls into this area.

With this increased use of technology, the ability to take work out of the office and use subcontractors in conjunction with the normal white collar employees have made these careers more like those of their blue collar counterparts. (Sloane, Witney 2011)
Blue collar union membership in the US has declined due to several factors. One of which is the shift in union favored industries that dominated to Northern part of the country to the southern part of the country where unionization is not so highly favored. (Lipset, 2001). The already decreasing manufacturing occupations also plays a part. Occurrences in legal matters have also played a part in declination of union joining. The pro-union Wagner Act which was enacted in 1935 was revised by Republicans in 1943 to become less hospitable to those of labor unions. This has led to employers having more leeway in their fighting the use of unions. Blue collar union membership in the US has declined due to several factors.
