Being part of a study group can be challenging. With different learning styles and personalities within a group, differences of opinions may arise and the possibitiy of minor conflicts. This and similar conducts, if left unchecked, can cause the group to be less motivated and ultimately fail the assignment.

One way for me to avoid a similar situation is to develop a strategy to communicate and cooperate effectively with group of individuals having different learning styles and personalities. Since it will be difficult at first to know what those different learning styles and personalities are from each member, I will apply my style of learning and personality traits at the appropriate time. I will base them on the results from the Multiple Pathways to Learning Assessment and the Personality Spectrum Assessment.

By using my adventurous personality, The first thing I would do is get active by communicating with everyone in the group. I will ask about their goals and to see if there are any like interest with in the group. If I can get each member to talk about their strengths and weeknesses concerning their learning abilities and personalities, it will be easier for the team to find out what areas or subject an individual can help out the group with and where the team can help out an individual. By relating to each member of the group this way, I would be applying my interpersonal style of learning.

Once each team member knows the other members strength and weeknesses, using my intrapersonal intelligence, I will be able to understand and relate to others concerning the type of assignments I will receive from the group. So once the assignments are handed out, I will not question or complain about it. This way, group collaboration will not be tanted.

Since one my strong personality traits is an organizer, I would offer my assistance to organize a schedule
