...Over the past couple weeks I have been obseriving the profession of nursing. Nursing has a wide variety and opportunities of different types of postions. I have learned many things that i didn't know about nursing and also things thought i knew about nursing. There are many posotive and negative things about this job for instance the flexiblity. Nursing is very flexible, you don't always have to stay with the same specialty your whole entire career. When interviewing Brenda Dicocco a nurse at Sunny view, she explained to me how she had many different job titles through out her years of nursing. For instance she started of as an orthopedic nurse and now she is a supervisor. In the Nursing field you can always increase your standing by going to school or taking classes. The hours are another flexible part of the job, you can work during the day or at night, part time or full time. Another positive aspect of this field is you care for people and help them recover. As a nurse you will never have trouble finding a job, there are many opportunities all around the country. As always not every job is perfect, in this profession you do not only have to care for the patients but the family as well. The family can sometimes be the hardest task of your day, some may not cooperate or may not be able to handle the situation.
