There are students that are less talented at physical activities like running. There are students who are just plain awkward, but not enough so to waiver gym. Activities that are difficult include running, push ups, and pull ups. Some disabilities that would hinder gym would be hip dysplasia, asthma, and neuropathy. Gym class shouldn’t be graded because gym class might only matter if you want to be an athlete. Everyone’s fitness ability is different, and some people have disabilities that make it hard to do gym.

Unless you’ve got a star athlete on your hands, gym won’t matter in college. In real life colleges don’t care if your kid can score a goal or not. Gym doesn't matter as much to people who want to be an artist or an animator. Some …show more content…
Some people can’t do those activities, most of the time in sports you are just standing around waiting for your turn or for the ball to come to you. As humans we do not have all equal abilities, some people are better at soccer rather than volleyball or some people are great at running while others can’t run a full mile to save their life. A lot of people have some form of disability, big or small, it could be something like a strained ankle, a tweaked knee, or lasting damage to a limb or it could be something big like hip dysplasia, asthma, or Tourette's syndrome,or it could even be a really bad cold. Like, "Everybody has to spend the next 25 minutes doing a physical activity of their choice," and those choices could include jogging around a track, doing yoga, or playing volleyball. And as long as everybody keeps moving, everybody passes the class. No grades, no punishments. You could do gym that way or you could try this way by using a combination of heart rate monitors and well researched activities that students can chose from regime. The move is meant to focus on students’ overall fitness levels, rather than their ability to play team sports. It also aims to take subjectivity out of the grading process.
