...One question and one statement concerning these have always remained on my mind. The statement: “There are Black Sabbath fans and there are Led Zeppelin fans. You cannot be both And Led Zeppelin in more influencing.” And the question: “Who’s responsible for the creation of heavy metal? Black Sabbath or Led Zeppelin?” Within my readings and within my search, the only fact I have came up with is that these are the two most influential bands of all time. The members of the band Black Sabbath are vocalist Ozzy Osbourne, guitarist Tony Iommi, bassist Terry “Geezer” Butler and drummer Bill ward. These were the founding members of the band which was formed in 1968 in Birmingham, England. Though, the original name of the group was Earth Blues Company, which was shortened to Earth. Earth was forced to change their name due to another band already having that name. Their choice was based off of a song which they had written and that had created a stir among fans. A song about dealings and meddling in the gothic world and a dark visitation in the night; Black Sabbath. In the same year of 1968 there was a member of a band name the Yardbirds which consisted of guitarist Jimmy Page. Page was under contract still after the Yardbirds fell apart and he set out within Birmingham, England to find a “New Yardbirds” Thus the blues based band Led Zeppelin was founded and consisted of vocalist Robert Plant, guitarist Jimmy Page, bassist Jon Paul Jones, and drummer John Bonham. Both of these......

Music Trends in Popular American Culture

...were also very popular, many of these songs are still being played all over America. In 1960 Elvis returned to the music scene from the US Army but America was ready for a change. The Tamia Motown Record Company came on the scene specializing in black rhythm and blues (Goodwin & Bradley, 2008). There was also a folk music revival helped by Bob Dylan. The Beach Boys recorded music that appealed to high schoolers and the Beatles burst into popularity with innovative rock music that appealed to all ages. The musical phenomenon of the decade was Woodstock, a three day music festival that drew 400,000 people and featured peace, love and happiness. By the 1970s the term rock n’ roll had become nearly meaningless and the dance craze of the decade, Disco appeared. Disco was dance oriented pop and funk and soul music and remained popular until the late 1970s. It was so popular that it led to its own dance routines and fashion. Many bands, such as ABBA, helped spread Disco around Europe and Australia, increasing its popularity. Heavy metal, punk rock, hardcore punk, new wave and hip-hop were all very popular in the 1980s. New wave was the single biggest mainstream market and was very brief and by 1984 heavy metal began its reign on the charts. Led by bands like Van Halen and Motley Crue, heavy metal reached its popular peak in the late 1980s with new bands, like Guns N Roses, emerging. In the 1990s there were more music choices available than ever. Latino music grew......

In her career she had 170 million record sales, being the most-awarded female artist of all time with 415 awards, She’s going to be greatly missed. Are you annoyed with telemarketers? Well, I have good news for you. The FCC is making it harder for telemarketing companies to call or text message you! The new rules that are expected to be imposed on the 22nd of this month will further limit automatically dialed or pre-recorded calls know as "robocalls" and automated text messages. One FCC official said "People find loopholes, people find ways around them," But these new overlapping regulations seek to close them. Under these rules, telemarketers would have to get permission in writing before placing an automated call to a consumer. Information calls, such as school closing information and flight cancellations, are an exception. They can be made to land-line phones without written permission. Cell phones and text messages have stricter rules. In school news, the Obama Administration recently called......

...Garcia Email: Company description: MGM is a full service communications company that provides advertising, public relations, event planning & management, market research and other communications services to broad range of clients. Clients include Honda, Cathay Land, National Bookstore, Seaoil, JVC, Heinz, Lea & Perrins, Bridgestone. Dean Owen has been changing his business cards to say “President” for years now, so we thought we might as well make it official. MGM attempted to establish a new life for itself from the mid-1990s as a "mini-major" studio, operating more or less independently, but latterly with the financial and operational support of part-owners Sony Pictures and Comcast. That followed a long period of steady decline. In its golden age, MGM was the undisputed giant of the movie industry, with such hits as Gone With The Wind and Wizard of Oz. But the studio fell from grace in the 1950s before being gradually carved up by corporate raiders. In 1996, MGM bought back its independence and restored some of its lost glory. But it remained the smallest of the movie majors, heavily reliant on its back-catalogue and the periodic resurrection of its James Bond franchise. The company went into play in 2004, and was eventually acquired by a consortium of investors. However, this strategy also failed to deliver significant results, and the studio filed for bankruptcy in 2010 as part of a pre-agreed plan to merge with independent production company......

...factor. 4. Would you have made the deal with GSK?

Zo impliceert de alom bekende definitie van Arthur Levitt een zeker opportunisme dat schuil gaat achter deze praktijk: “practices by which earnings reports reflect the desires of management rather than the underlying financial performance of the company.”

Rock Music

...such as Fats Domino and Little Richard. They were the first to produce Rock music and the music they made was characterized by the use of electric guitars, a strong rhythm with an accent on the offbeat and youth-oriented lyric. However, White people soon got in on the action as well, people such as Ritchie Valens, Buddy Holly and The Big Bopper. They were very popular artists and they produced many songs that are still played on oldie radio stations. The artist I mentioned above all died in a plane crash on February 3, 1959, the day music died. Music, in general, also affected our economy. MTV's rating hit record highs and also the sale of guitars and other instrument soared to new heights as kids and teens alike wanted to be the next Van Halen or Hendrix. Another way music boosted our economy was merchandises and if it had a band name, it would quickly sell out. With fashion in the past and present, punk, metal, and hard rock fans would wear torn and tattered clothes, chains, chuck tattoos, patches and anything related that would make them look like there band or favorite artist. This idea is the same for most other artists of the 80's if they wore it, their audiences wore it. Music all so gave some fans the excuse to go over the top in every way everything in huge amounts of sex, drugs and alcohol. Rock and Roll has gone through many changes over the years, which is apparent from there being about 70 sub-genres of the music. The Animals, Cream, and The Rolling Stones......

...(1985-1990)[edit] This section may require cleanup to meet Wikipedia's quality standards. The specific problem is: Roth's albums are consistently referred to as solo; no citations for existence of group as a band. Please help improve this section if you can. (January 2013) Also, in 1985, Vai became the object of widespread public fascination after joining—at the urging of his friend, bass virtuoso and future bandmate, Billy Sheehan -- David Lee Roth's post-Van Halen supergroup. The David Lee Roth band, which later became known as the Eat 'em and Smile Band, (1985-1989,) featured Roth on vocals; Vai on guitar; former Talas bassist Billy Sheehan on bass; and former Maynard Ferguson drummer, Gregg Bissonette. The foursome's debut album, Eat 'em and Smile, was both a critical and commercial success, reaching #4 on the Billboard 200 Album Chart and selling over 2 million copies. Rolling Stone Magazine compared Vai's guitar-playing favorably to that of Roth's legendary former partner Eddie Van Halen, stating that Vai "takes his cues from Eddie's loop-the-loop style, but, importantly, he adds some wild dips of his own. He's not simply aping Eddie, he's also embellishing. Likewise, Vai's musical rapport with Roth mirrors Van Halen's, and that relationship, as usual, defines much of the material." [4] Retrospectively, Eat 'em and Smile is frequently evaluated as one of the best rock albums of the 1980s.[5] Vai's, Roth's, Sheehan's, and Bissonette's highly successful......
