(Laura Hillman nee) Hannelore Wolff is a teenage girl. She grew up with two brothers and a mother and a father. She loves her family very much and would go to great lengths for them as shown throughout the story. The book is about her journey through the multiple concentration camps during the Holocaust. She makes many different friends at the different camps but has to be smart and brave in order to learn how to survive on her own.
