Harris Teeter vs. Super Wal-Mart
Harris Teeter and super Wal-Mart are well known grocery store throughout the United States. These two stores are constantly competing with each other to bring in more customers and make better sales. Personally, I do not enjoy shopping at Wal-Mart, but I still end up going there because of the store’s convenience and its large inventory. Harris Teeter is by far one of my favorite grocery stores. Although Harris Teeter’s groceries tend to be more expensive than Wal-Mart’s, I have found from past experiences that I usually get fresher produce when I shop there. Harris Teeter’s meat and seafood section seems to be better taken care of than Wal-Mart’s, and they often have fresher selection of meats. Also, when comparing customer service with these two stores, Harris Teeter wins every time. Customer service is very important to me because I have worked in retail for the past few years and I understand the effect it can have on the store’s sales and reputation. When shopping at Harris Teeter the employees are always very helpful and friendly, which makes that extra dollar all worth it. Whereas when I shop at Wal-Mart, the employees generally look like they all have a bitter taste in their mouths and aren’t very friendly. Also, the employees at Wal-Mart usually are unable to help locate products because they tend to not take their job seriously. Another beneficial feature to shopping at Harris Teeter is everything is always in its correct location, which makes it much easier for the customer to find the product they are looking for. Furthermore, Harris Teeter is one of the cleanest grocery stores that I have been to. Every time that I have been in Wal-Mart, I usually see dirt, hair, and much more lying around the store. Seeing those things, tells me that Wal-Mart is an unsanitary shopping environment. Harris Teeter’s clean
