Over the years Hawaii's hiking trails haven’t been safe due to weather conditions, erosion and lack of caution/warning signs and proper maintenance. If we funded and fixed these problems then I believe that the trails will be safe to hike for both the locals, tourist and residents. Over the years, hiking trails have been destroyed due the weather, erosion, or trashed by people and even by animals. Problems like these makes it dangerous to hike on most of Hawaii’s trails because of slippery slopes, loose rocks, dirt and branches. According to a local hiker, Fred Lino, he argues that when he's sliding down slopes, there would hardly be anything for him to catch himself besides some broken tree branches along his way down.
