FACTS
Students enrolled in Journalism II at Hazelwood East High School wrote and edited the school's paper called The Spectrum. Two articles submitted in the last edition of the paper included articles discussing divorce and teenage pregnancy. The divorce article had a story with a student who blamed her father for her parents' divorce. The teen pregnancy article had stories where pregnant students from Hazelwood East shared their escapade. The school principal felt that the subjects of these two articles were inappropriate.
