My strategy will consist of three phases. These phases include: capital shortage, funding for equipment acquisition and funding options for capital expansion. While during these three phases I will also observe the necessary financial statements and documents that need to be review so that I can make better decisions on all three phases. From this information that I have I will then analyze and review the information and make a sound decide that will they best strategy for improvements? I will not only focus on the goals for the clinic, but long term budget goals as well some short term goals if needed.

Phase I: Capital Shortage

There were two options that I chose to make cut costs to. The two options that I chose were to reduce the agency staff and changing the skill mix. I chose to reduce agency staff because “Reducing proportion of contract labor used to fill vacancies would save use money and among patient care workers would reduce costs, staffing nursing units and other patient care areas where take cuts as well. To me the salaries of agency contracted that are brought on are people that are getting paid twice as much as the other hospital staff. Also by reducing these personnel issues will then tremendously cut down the costs made toward the hospital.

Bridging a working capital shortage is one of the strategies that can help increase the hospital’s revenue in many ways if there is a true concrete plan can be formulated and put in to place and make sure that the formula is put in to action right. (University of Phoenix, 2011). I also chose to change the skill mix because “Changing the skill mix by hiring unlicensed assistive personnel to me will offer a more effective means of addressing the serious economic realities. This option to me will allow nurses to delegate simple tasks

Child Depression

...Risk and Protective Factors for Depression: Implications for Prevention Depression in Children and Adolescents Linking Risk Research and Prevention Judy Garber, PhD Abstract: The National Institute of Mental Health has called for translational research linking basic knowledge about vulnerabilities that underlie mood disorders to the development of effective preventive interventions. This paper highlights research about risk factors for depression in children and adolescents and links it to current knowledge about interventions aimed at preventing depression in youth. Basic epidemiologic and clinical research indicates that increased risk for depression is associated with being female; a family history of depression, particularly in a parent; subclinical depressive symptoms; anxiety; stressful life events; neurobiological dysregulation; temperament/personality (e.g., neuroticism); negative cognitions; problems in self-regulation and coping; and interpersonal dysfunction. These vulnerabilities both increase individuals’ chances of encountering stress and decrease their ability to deal with the stress once it occurs. Although several existing depression-prevention studies have targeted one or more of these risk factors, the efficacy of these various prevention programs for youth with different combinations of these risk factors needs to be investigated further. Most existing depression-prevention programs in youth have used cognitive– behavioral techniques, with some success...

The Controversy About a Possible Relationship Between Mobile Phone Use and Cancer

...Review The Controversy about a Possible Relationship between Mobile Phone Use and Cancer Michael Kundi Institute of Environmental Health, Medical University of Vienna, Vienna, Austria oBjective: During the last decade, mobile phone use increased to almost 100% prevalence in many countries of the world. Evidence for potential health hazards accumulated in parallel by epidemiologic investigations has raised controversies about the appropriate interpretation and the degree of bias and confounding responsible for reduced or increased risk estimates. data sources: Overall, I identified 33 epidemiologic studies in the peer-reviewed literature, most of which (25) were about brain tumors. Two groups have collected data for ≥ 10 years of mobile phone use: Hardell and colleagues from Sweden and the Interphone group, an international consortium from 13 countries coordinated by the International Agency for Research on Cancer. data synthesis: Combined odds ratios (95% confidence intervals) from these studies for glioma, acoustic neuroma, and meningioma were 1.5 (1.2–1.8); 1.3 (0.95–1.9); and 1.1 (0.8–1.4), respectively. conclusions: Methodologic considerations revealed that three important conditions for epidemiologic studies to detect an increased risk are not met: a) no evidence-based exposure metric is available; b) the observed duration of mobile phone use is generally still too low; c) no evidence-based selection of end points among the grossly different types of neoplasias is possible...
