Optimal Health and Wellness Action Plan
Over the last few weeks our team has come up with ideas that would help improve overall health. We have looked into the areas of health and wellness, nutrition and fitness, prevention of the most prevalent chronic diseases, how the environment affects our health, and protecting and enhancing our immune systems. These simple steps can lead to optimal health and wellness.
We as a team recognize the six dimensions of health in our lives, and feel society is stronger in some areas than others. Areas we would like to see improvements in our social, physical, and environmental health. We can see that it is hard for people to interact with one another in many ways. People do not seem to be able to communicate face to face or feel comfortable with anyone that is not just like themselves. We would like to see people from across the cultures and races learn how to connect in the real world, and see that when we make things better for one, we are really making it better for all. We can do our part by reaching out to others and setting an example of how to treat others and making everyone feel needed and appreciated. Our society is known as an obese nation, and this is causing many avoidable diseases. We need to educate our society on how to make healthy food choices, and how to become physically active. Society cannot achieve optimal health if the environment around us is not healthy. Protecting the planet from pollutants in our water, air or soil will help insure that the food we eat or the air we breathe will not make us sick. Organizing a recycle program in our community, and car pooling will help us avoid inflicting more damage.
It seems like our society has forgotten what it takes to be physically fit. So many of us do not want to put in the effort it takes to plan healthy meals or to workout. Many people would
