This video hasn’t necessarily impacted my view on American agriculture but instead made me realize the truth. I am now aware of where my food comes from, how it is made, how it is processed, and how it is sold. The way our food is made is not the most pleasing but it is a neccessity. I do believe the way animals are treated could be better, but in order to provide for people, it has to be done quickly and efficiently. The process is not the healthiest and that is what has impacted me, if anything, the most. I am now aware of the way that food and especially meat is sold. It is made to look like a bunch of brands but may only be supplied by 3 companies. For example, Tyson has a big hold in the chicken market and even though a product say it’s one thing, it is most likely Tyson chicken. I think that people can definitely be more informed and educated on what is in their food. One of the ways consumers especially can do this is by research to see the ingredients they’re consuming and videos similar to Food Inc. I believe that people have a right to know what is in their food and also how it affects their bodies. Another way that people can be more informed on what they are eating is to eat food from organic places or farms that grow food and raise cattle appealing to the consumer. …show more content…
One of the reasons for this is that if someone wanted healthy food, they would make it available. By this I mean choosing healtheir options, planting a garden, raising chickens for eggs, and shopping from markets. Even though some people cannot afford healthy food, they have to look at the big picture. Although a Big Mac is cheap and tastes good, a bag of carrots for a little more, keeps you full longer so the extra money allows you to not have to keep going to get Big Macs.
