Risks associated with the initiative and financial effects Wal-Mart may have

The strategic planning initiatives of Wal-Mart have a huge on their financial planning. Wal-Mart also puts a huge importance on pricing their products at low prices. By focusing on low prices, Wal-Mart is able to capitalize on overall profits by making their additional operations more efficient (Wal-Mart, 2009). These strategies have had a remarkable impact on both prices and their overall sales resulting in Wal-Mart becoming the market leader inside the United States. Wal-Mart has a sector that is called expansion initiatives, in which they open new store, expand their existing stores, and alter the locations of their lower performing store. The initiatives are highly effective bringing in additional capital in the long run. Overall sales have also been impacted in a positive way by the implementation of the new initiatives. In Wal-Mart’s 2009 annual reports, their net sales increase nearly 9% from the previous year and also added nearly $30 billion to their annual sales (Wal-Mart, 2009). Based on Wal-Marts most recent annual report, Wal-Mart saw an increase of nearly 3.4% to $419 billion, operating income by 64% to more than $25 billion, and closed out the year with almost $11 billion in free cash flow. Wal-Mart’s dividends rose from 0.67 per share in 2007, on a continuous increase to 1.21 per share in 2011. Their earnings per share also rose from 2.93 per share in 2007 to 4.18 in 2011 (Wal-Mart, 2011). Even though Wal-Mart's strategic initiatives have a high-quality effect on their net sales, there are still some business risks that come along with these initiatives. Some of these risks include repeated alterations and modifications in interest rates and rates of the exchange of foreign currency. Insurance risk is another huge risk, which includes vehicle liability, workers

...I truly wish I could bring staff sergeant Garcia back to life so that you guys could enjoy the presence of him. I know saying I’m sorry can never restore his life or make your family whole again. However, I believe in the power of atonement, and I have taken responsibility for the taking of staff sergeant Garcias life. I hope at some point that you and your family can find it in your spirit to forgive me. I am deeply sorry for what has happened. I wish I had words to comfort and sustain you in your grief, but I know there are none that will take away any pain you are feeling now. My heart aches for you and your family. Every time I think back to that fateful night, I found myself asking the question, “Why didn’t I just bring the fucking discriminators?” Its hard to find the right words to express how deeply remorseful I am for causing staff sergeant Garcias death. Somehow saying I’m sorry for robbing your family of life seems too small of a gesture. Today, when I look back, I wish I could change the past. I wish I would have never have forgotten the M240 discriminators. I wish I would have remembered them. More than anything, I wish I could restore staff sergeant Garcias life so that you his family could enjoy his company. I regret nothing more in life than what I have done to you and your family. It was wrong, stupid and immature and you do not deserve any of the grief and anger I have caused you. Words will never fully express how sorry I am, but I truly hope that it...

Charles Spurgeon

...INTRODUCTION Commonly referred to as “The Prince of Preachers,” Charles H. Spurgeon is deserving of that title. Many have studied the work of Mr. Spurgeon, whether his sermons or his writing, in order to come to a deeper appreciation for the Holy Spirit inspired Word. It was a devotion to the Word that would begin and fuel the ministry that Spurgeon would devote most of his lifetime to. He was a preacher, a writer, and the founder of a number of great institutions. Each area of Spurgeon’s life continues to inspire and thrive today. LIFE AND DEATH Charles Haddon Spurgeon (1834-1892) was born at Kelvedon, in Essex. His father, John, and Grandfather, James, were both Independent (Congregational) pastors and evangelical Calvinists. During his early teen years, Spurgeon enrolled in an agricultural college with the aspirations of becoming a farmer. The Road to Brown Reflection Paper

...The Road to Brown tells the story of the millions of nameless blacks who faced devastating hardships caused by Jim Crow, which simply robbed them of the rights granted by the 14th and 15th Amendments. Under the "separate but equal" doctrine of the Supreme Court's 1896 Plessy v. Ferguson decision, black citizens were denied the right to vote, to attend white schools, to be buried in white cemeteries, etc. Those who objected were liable to be lynched. The era of Jim Crow provoked men such as, Charles Houston to fight back for those who were unable. Charles Hamilton Houston, "the man who killed Jim Crow”, grew up during the Jim Crow Era and devoted his entire life trying to destroy it. Houston came from a privileged background in regards to blacks. He finished top of his class in high school preparing him for a prosperous college career. Unfortunately, before Houston had the chance to attend college, he served in a segregated regiment during World War I. During this time Houston wrote about the hate he constantly faced from his fellow countrymen due to his race and promised himself he would study law to fix the lack of justice, changing the situation for his people. In 1920, he entered Harvard law school where he became the first black editor of the Harvard Law Review. ...What is a Noun? Page 1 The Writing Centre HyperGrammar The Parts of Speech What is a Noun? A noun is a word used to name a person, animal, place, thing, and abstract idea. Nouns are usually the first words which small children learn. The highlighted words in the following sentences are all nouns: Late last year our neighbours bought a goat. Portia White was an opera singer. The bus inspector looked at all the passengers' passes. According to Plutarch, the library at Alexandria was destroyed in 48 B.C. Philosophy is of little comfort to the starving. A noun can function in a sentence as a subject, a direct object, an indirect object, a subject complement, an object complement, an appositive, an adjective or an adverb. Noun Gender Many common nouns, like "engineer" or "teacher," can refer to men or women. Once, many English nouns would change form depending on their gender -- for example, a man was called an "author" while a woman was called an "authoress" -- but this use of gender-specific nouns is very rare today. Those that are still used occasionally tend to refer to occupational categories, as in the following sentences. David Garrick was a very prominent eighteenth-century actor. Sarah Siddons was at the height of her career as an actress in the 1780s. The manager was trying to write a want ad, but he couldn't decide whether he was advertising for a "waiter" or a "waitress" Noun Plurals Most nouns change their form to indicate number by adding...

The Story Behind the Palms

...Contact Us Site Map Home Publications Index by Author by Subject ABC's Farm Lessons One Step Poems Prayer USA Historical The Story Behind The Psalms by Dr. Jack Hyles PREFACE There are three books in the Bible from which I read every day—the Psalms, the Proverbs and the book of Acts. I read the Psalms for love, the Proverbs for wisdom and the book of Acts for power. These three things—love, wisdom and power have for years been on the top of my prayer list. One day while meditating on one of the Psalms, I found myself wondering where the author was when he wrote it, what the circumstances were surrounding its writing and what exactly prompted the author to compose such a masterpiece. I fled to the library of my memory and the refuge of my commentaries until my temporary search became long research. This venture was so enjoyable that I traveled the historical path of another Psalm, then another, then another, which soon led to a series of Bible studies at the First Baptist Church of Hammond on the conditions and circumstances surrounding the writing of each of the Psalms. It makes our study richer as we stand beside the author as he writes and as we feel his heartbeat, watch his tears, enjoy his laughter and join in his praise. May the author beg scholastic mercy of the reader. The following words were not penned to be examined by the microscope of the scholar but rather to be enjoyed by the study of the saint. With lovingkindness, a prayerful spirit...

...Genesis The basic genre of the book of Genesis is, for the most part, narrative. There are many key themes and events in Genesis, and quite a few of the most popular Bible stories come from this first book of the Old Testament: God’s creation of everything we have come to know as existence, sin (of Adam & Eve, Sodom & Gomorrah, the Tower of Babel, etc.), God’s promises (of love, acceptance, and forgiveness), Joseph’s coat of many colors, and plenty more. After God’s creation of existence, Adam and Eve were disobedient, and therefore were punished. Over time, the human race had become so sinful that God washed everyone except Noah and his family in a global flood Noah's descendant, Abraham, was chosen by God to create a chosen people. Abraham's twelve grandsons from Jacob (who was later renamed Israel) became the “founders” of the land of Israel's twelve tribes. One of Jacob/Israel's sons, Jacob, was sent to Egypt by his brothers (or so they thought- God had planned this for His own reasons, which were good). Joseph's father and family were saved by a newly powerful him. Exodus Exodus’ basic genre is a narrative as well. Key themes and events include: Oppression of the Jews from the Pharaoh, Moses' characterization as the Jews' rescuer, God's plagues sent upon the people, the first passover, Moses parting the red sea, and the fall of Egypt's army. After all of this, the Jews were searching in the wilderness for the promised land, and although God provided them...
