...Eric Smith Smith 1 English 7 Mrs. Myers April 14,2015 Annotated Bibliography Asante, Philip G. The Truth about Racism: Its Origins, Legacy, and How God Wants Us to Deal with It. This source played a pretty big role in my paper because I need to identify the truth about mistreatment of blacks before I could write a paper on it. The Author goes into great detail about the mistreatment and stereotype put upon blacks during the slavery era. There are a lot misconceptions about the issue of slavery, but this book clears things up. Cole, Margaret. Women of To-day. This book helped in the sense of getting a view of how women view rasing young men. A lot of the young women in the book explained it as being very hard and stressful. This book came out over 50 years ago so during that time it was war and a lot of issue that ended in their being a lot of single mothers. The book is finished by saying “ A father is needed for any young man to succeed”, and that is where I get my strong opinion about single homes in my essay. Douglass, Frederick. "My Escape from Slavery" This passage helped probably more than any other because he went through slavery and escaped. He talks about the struggles he is put through and also how many of his close friends and family were hurt. He explains in strong detail his journey to freedom and also says he Smith 2 doesn’t understand...

Pet to Prisons

...Joycene Harrell CRM-430 Term Paper Week 5 Draft Summary for Prison Rehabilitation and Counseling Programs I chose to focus this term paper on the various programs offered to prisoners as part of their rehabilitation for introduction back into society. In today’s world there are many who believe that every one can be rehabilitated. The question should be asked; “does rehabilitation really work for everyone?” I will provide statistics on the success and failure rate, as well as which programs are most beneficial to prisoners. Whether rehabilitation and counseling works or not, something has to be done to assist prisoners in order for them to lead a normal life upon their release. I will discuss some of the many programs offered by various states ranging from “Pets in Prison” to obtaining college degrees. I will explain the various types of counseling offered to sex offenders, pedophiles and murderers. Those are a few topics I feel should have special interest in the counseling/rehabilitation area. I am sure most would agree that prisoners should receive some type of counseling and rehabilitation, but where do you draw the line on the rehabilitation services offered? Should the money from taxpayers be used to fund certain types of programs, how does the prison system decide who gets to participate in which programs, and how can counselors and judicial boards ensure there will be no regression? Those are just a couple of questions that will be answered...

Affirmative Acion in Business

...Employee Theft Buena Vista University Employee Theft Each year employers lose large sums of money to employee theft. Often times this theft is not seen as stealing by the employee but is seen as an employee right or benefit, or maybe just not thought about in terms such as theft. The use of company products, such as copy or fax machines, for personal use, taking home paper clips or pens, and running personal errands on company time are all examples of employee theft. So what is employee theft? What different actions are considered employee theft? Are employers really losing money from these minor circumstances? What is the employee’s ethical responsibility and obligations when it comes to employee theft? Why do employees feel justified or deserving of their actions? What can employers do to prevent this theft from occurring? These questions and others that pertain to employee theft will be answered in the following research. I will then conclude with the reason behind the selection of this topic and my own personal ethical view of employee theft. What is Employee Theft? What is employee theft? Employee theft is defined as “any stealing, use or misuse of their employer’s assets without permission to do so” (Walsh, 2000). Employee theft is in a category also known as employee deviance. Further broken down employee theft is divided into two subcategories property deviance and production deviance. “Property deviance includes employee behaviors...
