Gpa Assignment

...point average. It’s a calculated average of the grades that you earn in school. You receive a GPA at the end of each semester based on the grades that you earned. You receive a good GPA by keeping good grades because a GPA is based off of how good your grades are, or how bad they are. The highest GPA you can get is a 4.0 and the lowest is a 0. You actually can get higher than a 4.0 but that’s really hard to get because you have to have extra credit in all of your classes. The highest GPA is a 4.0 but sometimes it can be higher depending on what school you go to. The lowest your GPA can be is a 0, which is really bad, and means that you absolutely no work. If you do no work or anything...

I sleep no more than six hours a night because of my desire to expertly meet my many commitments. Throughout my life, I have worked as long and as hard as I possibly can to effect beneficial changes in both school and society. During the summer of tenth grade, I took a number theory course at Johns Hopkins University with students from Alaska, California, and Bogota, Colombia. Similarly, during the summer following eleventh grade, I was one of ninety students from New Jersey selected to attend the Governor's School in the Sciences at Drew University. At Drew, I took courses in molecular orbital theory, special relativity, cognitive psychology, and I participated in an astrophysics research project. For my independent research project, I used a telescope to find the angular velocity of Pluto. With the angular velocity determined, I used Einstein's field equations and Kepler's laws to place an upper bound on the magnitude of the cosmological constant, which describes the curvature of space and the rate of the universe's expansion. Penta Personal Statement

...Penta Career Center has changed my overall perception of school, and I am very eager to share how. Penta is a vocational school located in Perrysburg Ohio, that offers programs ranging from cosmetology to welding. Popular programs include automotive technology, masonry, culinary arts, dental assisting, early childhood education, floral design, public safety, and small animal care. And these are just few of the many programs here at Penta. Oak Harbor is my home school, and I came to Penta my junior year to attend Medical Technologies. I plan to return to Penta for my senior year as well! I chose to come to Penta because I wanted to get a headstart in the medical field. I knew that being in Medical Technologies would help me pursue my future career of becoming a licensed dermatologist. One of the things I enjoy here at Penta, is that we operate on block schedule. Block scheduling gives me a good idea of what college will be like. Penta also gives me the opportunity to participate and compete in student organizations, such as HOSA and SkillsUSA. HOSA is an organization dedicated to educating future healthcare professionals. The web defines SkillsUSA as “.. a partnership of students, teachers and industry working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce. SkillsUSA helps each student excel. We provide educational programs, events and...

Interview

...Marques Whitmire was an easy individual to admire with his ambitious attitude that complimented his down-to-earth attitude. I met Marques at the Sheraton hotel of downtown Atlanta through my cousin, Reggie Scott, where they both were at on a business trip. Marques overheard our, my cousin and I, conversation about college and what I planned to do with my future and immediately joined in and gave his own insight. The interesting thing was that Marques had an MBA in Marketing which is something I aspire to do. He told me things to work at to get better and had all the answers to every single one of my questions. Although I had only met Marques once before my interview, he made it feel as if I had been around him fifty times. So, I chose none other than Marques Whitmire to interview. I called upon Marques for an interview and he agreed. Although Marques was a very busy man, he fit me into his schedule. He was in Atlanta on a business trip for the Honda Battle of the Bands and he arranged an interview for October 17th at two p.m. at Starbucks. I wanted to give a good impression so I was at Starbucks fifteen minutes before two shortly before Marques arrived. Marques walked in as if he had just left a business meeting. He was wearing a black suit, white shirt, black dress shoes, purple tie, and a pair of Calvin Klein spectacles that gave him a look that was hard to top. When I saw him, that’s what I imagined myself to be in a couple years. We both greeted each other....

...I first became involved in the Accounting Association Spring of 2010. I then pledged for the Beta Alpha Psi (BAP) organization and was initiated fall of 2010. I have been an active member since then and became BAP Membership chair spring of 2011. Becoming BAP membership chair is a privilege to me because I get to be the “welcoming person” to our organization. I am a good candidate for this position because I am friendly and very easy to get along with. Being a part of BAP is a wonderful experience. This organization creates many networking opportunities and great friendships as well. The Accounting Association and Beta Alpha Psi are a great part of the college experience and I am exceptionally glad that I decided to join. Hopefully I am having that same affect on other students who are pledging BAP. It makes college much more fun and beneficial having friends who are also in the same class. I am glad I became an active member of BAP and hope to branch this success off to others. I hope to become involved in many more activities over the entire campus so that I may broaden my experience and create more friendships. Write a total of one to three paragraphs about your employment experiences over the past five years. Be specific. Please describe all jobs you have held over the past five years. Persuasive Essay

... Persuasive Essay #10 College is that step into adulthood. You live on your own, make decisions by yourself, and etc. Many college students have the burden of student loans. On top of that they want to work hard for good grades. Making one mistake in college can honestly affect you for the rest of your life. Classes and teachers are way tougher than they are in high school. So do you think it is really necessary to have them do extra community service? College students should not be required to do community service. First, college students shouldn’t be allowed to do community service because of keeping up with a good academic record. Grades are an important factor in college. You honestly can’t afford to slack off. Statistics states,” 75% of college students suffer from major anxiety”. Focusing is a major priority for all your classes if you want to strive for good grades. You need to work consistently on reports or essays and study so that the material is a known thing to you. As a matter of fact, college students shouldn't be allowed to do community service because of limit of time with students who do sports. Most people don’t go to college just for education but to pursuit of a sport with a scholarship. A NYU student stated, “I have a scholarship for crew and practices are at least 5 hours, I have barely have no time for school work let alone do anything else”. “I also have to maintain a 3.6 GPA or my scholarship is gone”. If a person gets a scholarship for a sport...

Scholarship Essay

...Selvin Mathew College Map Scholarship Essay Send to clayton.stroleny@ey.com by Feb.2 Imagine a world where college or post secondary education was only available to a select few and withheld from others due to their family history, socioeconomic status, or even geopgraphy. Before being accepted into the College Map program by Ernst & Young (EY) for mentoring, I felt like I might have fallen under those statistics. Fortunately, through EY's scholarship information sessions, admission statistics, tips and Essays for College and Scholarships program, I now know what is actually available to students. If I had the power to change Miami Central in anyway, it would be to make the College Map program less exclusive, that is, to make College Map available to a larger segment of the student body; as it was made available to myself because nothing amounts to the value of a college education. Specifically, I would make College Map available or even mandatory for all 9-12th graders to have them prepped and ready for the transition to postsecondary education. Entering high school, the last thing on my mind was college. That is ironic because since College Map, I understand that I should have been preparing for higher education while in much sooner. Unfortunately, underclassmen commonly are not aware of the hectic college application process they’re about to embark on. However, it's not until junior and senior years that GPAs, Standardized tests and essay competitions become the...
