High School vs College Education is the process of learning and acquiring information, which can be delivered from teachers to students in an educational institution like High school and college, where an excellent education is offered, but they also can have various similarities and differences.
To begin, there are many similarities like both are educational institutions assisted by teachers, who evaluate the students by tests and homework, also they have libraries and computer laboratories to help the students to improve their learning activities, however they both can demand time and effort to be successful in them.
On the other hand, High school and college have differences, like High school is mandatory and free of charge, but at college the student needs to pay tuition unless he or she is qualified with a grant or scholarship, also in college the student has more freedom to choose the curriculum and pace of study with not set lunch hours, while in High school everything is regimented and told what to do. Finally, students are from different ages at college and can obtain a higher level degree than in High school which most of them are basic general education.
In conclusion, even though High school and college can be very different, there are still similarities they share like High school prepares the student for college and college is a mature way of High school and both are educational institutions where the student can obtain a great

Otaku

...INTRODUCTION           ANIME. Whenever I hear this word, I automatically switch my brain from serious and normal mode, to hyperactive and otaku mode.           When I hear people talk about anime, I can't just leave them be, I'll talk with them! This is how freaky and weird I can be. I first started watching anime when I was a kid, but I took it to the next level when I was in high school. Are you wondering what kind of next level this is? I meant next level as, at first, I only watch it when I come across it. But now, I watch it because I want to. It became my fascination. When I learned that an anime is popular and it's really good, I'll watch it. I may leave my schoolwork undone and watch anime first. This became the topic of my blog. Anime.           Hi! I'm a serious, fun, hyperactive, weird and crazy otaku. I'm Lissa Nubla and welcome to my blog! 1 - What is Anime? (The photo above is an example of an anime art/drawing.)           So, what is anime? Why is it popular all around the world, just like here in the Philippines? Does anime affect the way of living of the people that watch or are addicted in watching it?           According to the article What is Anime by Serdar Yegulalp that I read, "The word anime -- pronounced "ah-knee-may" -- is an abbreviation of the word animation. In Japan, the word's used to refer to all animation." Also, according to Katherine Luther, anime is essentially Japanese animation and in fact, the word 'anime' is a shortened...

Stats Report

...Written Report Adam Hassen, Matt Herrig, David Indehar Statistics 12/10/2012 SITUATION: We are investigating the amount of cigarettes smoked by the population of smokers in the metropolitan area. The metropolitan area is defined as the greater metro area of Minneapolis and Saint Paul, and near suburbs. Furthermore, we are attempting to make inferences on meaningful and relevant correlations and trends within the data, among other insights in to the population. SAMPLING METHOD/DATA COLLECTION METHOD: We obtained our samples by walking around Downtown Minneapolis individually (with each group member surveying different sections of the downtown area), seeking out individuals that were smoking and occasionally asked various people that were loitering outside. We would then introduce the project and ourselves, explain to them the situation, and ask them if they were willing to partake in the survey. If they agreed to participate, we would hand the participants the survey to complete, or upon their request, simply ask them the questions and record their answers. We did this on three separate occasions. Roughly 40 percent of our sample was acquired between 5:00PM and 8:00PM on Tuesday night, 30 percent between 11:00AM and 2:30PM on Wednesday, and the remaining 30 percent between 4:00PM and 6:00PM on the same Wednesday. Some bias that could be influencing our data is the fact that, in general, the population of downtown Minneapolis is somewhat more likely to consist of individuals...

The Sat Essay

...The SAT Essay: Building a Repertoire of Examples The SAT essay is intended to measure your writing skills, not your knowledge of any specific subject. Therefore, the essay prompts given on the SAT must be fairly open-ended, so that anyone with a highschool education and life experiences common to all teenagers can respond to them. Most of them deal with basic philosophical, psychological, moral, or social issues. In my experience as a teacher, I’ve seen that the biggest challenge students face in writing the SAT essay is coming up with rich and relevant examples to discuss within the twenty-five minutes you’re given for the essay section. Quite often, students end up using examples that are inappropriate or superficial, or they don’t know enough about the examples they’ve chosen to write about them in detail. The way to combat this problem is to create your own repertoire of examples that you are well prepared to write detailed paragraphs about. Then, when you read the prompt you’re given on the day of the test, you can simply choose the examples from your repertoire that are most relevant to that particular topic. (Of course, this method isn’t fullproof; it may happen that you are unfortunate enough to get a topic that your prepared examples aren’t really appropriate for. If that’s the case, don’t try to force your examples to fit the topic. The process of coming up with these examples and writing several practice essays will also help you learn how to come up with new examples...

Effective Learning Techniques

...Improving Students’ Learning With Effective Learning Techniques: Promising Directions From Cognitive and Educational Psychology Many students are being left behind by an educational system that some people believe is in crisis. Improving educational outcomes will require efforts on many fronts, but a central premise of this monograph is that one part of a solution involves helping students to better regulate their learning through the use of effective learning techniques. Fortunately, cognitive and educational psychologists have been developing and evaluating easy-to-use learning techniques that could help students achieve their learning goals. In this monograph, we discuss 10 learning techniques in detail and offer recommendations about their relative utility. We selected techniques that were expected to be relatively easy to use and hence could be adopted by many students. Also, some techniques (e.g., highlighting and rereading) were selected because students report relying heavily on them, which makes it especially important to examine how well they work. The techniques include elaborative interrogation, self-explanation, summarization, highlighting (or underlining), the keyword mnemonic, imagery use for text learning, rereading, practice testing, distributed practice, and interleaved practice.   To offer recommendations about the relative utility of these techniques, we evaluated whether their benefits generalize across four categories of variables: learning...
