Week #7 Since the last midterm, I have put more focus into understanding the themes of this course and grasping a better sense of time of when these events occur. After lectures I have been typing up, reading, and highlighting the notes that I have taken from class. This has helped me prepare for the second exam because I am able to answer the questions at the beginning of the lectures and put more time and attention into the themes and readings of the class. I feel that I did sufficiently well on the midterm. I was prepared with the readings and ready to relate them to the themes of the class. I felt confident about the multiple-choice questions and with the map portion of the test. I prepared for this second midterm almost the same way I prepared for the first. I wrote down the multiple choice questions onto note cards and gave thorough descriptions about the questions, I went through the designated places for the map several times and wrote out the names to make sure my spelling would be on point. I approached the primary source documents a little bit differently than I did last time, instead of just reading the documents I went through and constantly reminded myself about the class themes and highlight specific points in the texts where I could really talk about the documents relation to the class themes. My overall grasp of the course I feel is getting significantly better, even though I have had some troubles with the weekly essays; I feel that I have a better understanding of the course than before the first midterm and will hopefully be entirely prepared for the final at the end of the course.

The creators of the cartoons always wish to attract the viewers so they add more imagination and fantasy to their products. Violence becomes the key factor in their work. A study has revealed that a typical child watches about 30 hours of television each week. Some of the effects may be that children are less interested in school, they exhibit violent and aggressive behavior, and they spend less time interacting with parents and friends, they suffer with increased anxiety. They become more negative and are easily bored by cartoons that contain little or no action. We can also see extreme violence in cartoon movies and video games that children play on a daily basis although these movies and games come with a ranking of a child’s age they still contain some form of violence.
