What Are the Factors to Be Put Into Consideration for a Firm Trying to Enter a New Global Market

...What are the factors to be put into consideration for a firm trying to enter a new global market As with any new business plan, the first step you should take before crossing borders is to do your homework. Take these 20 critical factors into account before you begin: Factor 1: Get company-wide commitment. Every employee should be a vital member of your international team, from the executive suite to customer service through engineering, purchasing, production and shipping. You're all in it for the long haul. Factor 2: Define your business plan for accessing global markets. An international business plan is important in order to define your company's present status and internal goals and commitment, but it's also necessary if you plan to measure your results. Factor 3: Determine how much you can afford to invest in your international expansion efforts. Will it be based on ten percent of your domestic business profits or on a pay-as-you-can-afford process? Factor 4: Plan at least a two-year lead-time for world market penetration. It takes time and patience to build a great, enduring global enterprise, so be patient and plan for the long haul. Factor 5: Build a website and implement your international plan sensibly. Many companies offer affordable packages for building a website, but you must decide in what language you'll communicate. English is unarguably the most important language in the world, but only 28 percent of the European population can read it. That......

Confucianism

...one person over the other, the older the younger the man over the woman. Each person has to have obedience to the other one that is in the subordinates. But the superior one has to have a loving responsibility to the other. The ideal person is one that has the qualities that include saint, scholar and gentleman. Confucius termed the name Jinzu to mean the ideal person. Unlike the petty person, who cannot transcend personal concerns and prejudices and acts only for his own gain, the junzi is cultured and knows how to act and speak appropriately in any situation. He is sets an example of a man whose virtuous influence promotes a flourishing human community. Confucianism is still relevant in today’s China. Recently, President Xi Jinping became the first Chinese president to address an international meeting on Confucianism. The open embrace that today’s China and world has for Confucius and his teaching is due to the sweeping...

How Pius Xii Protected the Jews

...The twentieth century was marked by genocides on an monstrous scale. One of the most terrible was the Holocaust wrought by Nazi Germany, which killed an estimated six million European Jews and almost as many other victims. During this dark time, the Catholic Church was shepherded by Pope Pius XII, who proved himself an untiring foe of the Nazis, determined to save as many Jewish lives as he could. Yet today Pius XII gets almost no credit for his actions before or during the war. Anti-Catholic author Dave Hunt writes, "The Vatican had no excuse for its Nazi partnership or for its continued commendation of Hitler on the one hand and its thunderous silence regarding the Jewish question on the other hand. . . . [The popes] continued in the alliance with Hitler until the end of the war, reaping hundreds of millions of dollars in payments from the Nazi government to the Vatican."[1] Jack Chick, infamous for his anti-Catholic comic books, tells us in Smokescreens, "When World War II ended, the Vatican had egg all over its face. Pope Pius XII, after building the Nazi war machine, saw Hitler losing his battle against Russia, and he immediately jumped to the other side when he saw the handwriting on the wall. . . . Pope Pius XII should have stood before the judges in Nuremberg. His war crimes were worthy of death."[2] One is tempted simply to dismiss these accusations, so wildly out of touch with reality, as the deluded ravings of persons with no sense of historical......

...accommodation is marketed. I have found that there is no advertising in key areas of the university in the most popular areas of the campus such as the canteen, shop and lecture buildings. A lot of the advertising that is done is with Crewe town such as estate agents. Some landlords that own big buildings with a lot of flats in have advertised by putting up boards displaying the inside of their houses. Off campus accommodation is not advertised on the university website, this would be a key place to have private landlords advertising their housing for 2nd and 3rd year students. The university does not own any off campus accommodation but own both the older halls of residence on campus and the reasonably new halls across the road. From talking to students and members of staff I have found that the cost of renting a room in halls is around £80 per week, this includes a shared kitchen, gas and electricity, water and internet accessibility. Whereas renting a room from a private landlord would cost around the same as in halls but will differ between £70 and £90 depending on each landlord and where the house is situated. The university does allow 2nd and 3rd years to live in halls if there is room. A lot of 2nd years are living in halls this year this is because there are less 1st years. There still isn’t enough rooms for every 2nd year to live in this meaning that they would have to find off campus accommodation. From my own knowledge of Crewe as I have lived here all of my......

A Simple Life

...cellars or in running streams in our back yards. Now a day’s kids ride trolley’s to and from school, but when I was a child we had to walk for miles in the snow, rain, and sometimes violent storms. These kids think they have it bad, well I wish they were around to see what all we had compared to what they have today. The Morse code for example we didn’t have that but they do and they can send messages to people all over the country. They have iceboxes which also mean they have fresh food for weeks. They have running water in the house so no more running to the well to get fresh water. Bathrooms in the house, no more running outside late at night to use the bathroom. The time is changing so much. An industrial revolution is happening right before my eyes. Things are being produced more rapidly and efficiently. Factories are hiring large amounts of workers which means a lot of new houses are being built. There are apartments for people who don’t need houses and large housing facilities for people with large families. Our lives are changing so much that I hardly get to see my wife, I come in from the factory, eat and go to bed to get up early in the morning to head off to work...

Architecture and the Environment Paper

...Architecture and the Environment Paper PSY/460 Tuesday 6, 2012 Design Paper When discussion of the design of any building, it is a balancing act with the environment and the material that will be used to build buildings. The very core of building design is to find a solution between the affects upon of the building and the environment. According to Arkkelin and Veitch, there are two basic types of buildings, commercial and residence, are designed in order to meet the needs of the clients as well: requirements, needs, and activities which are the commercial and residential (1995). Designing a commercial build needs to address the concern of serving the general public, corporate aspect, and to fulfill the needs of the needs of the society: like schools, prisons, and hospitals to name a few. Taking a closer look at the overall reasoning behind the design of a commercial building is two sided. The first is how the building needs to operate; the building must offer an easy avenue t atients, inmates, merchandise as well as the design must be to facilitate a smooth operation of the building. The second aspect is what the building is offering and maintaining security, privacy, and yet at the same time the means for the ability to interact with others. On the other side of the coin is the design of residential, strives to streamline the functioning of the private needs behind close doors of the residence. This paper will address the differences between the areas......

Essence of Work

...Essence of Work According to Kahlil Gibran, “What is it to work with love? It is to weave the cloth with threads drawn from your heart, even as if you’re beloved were to wear that cloth. It is to build a house with affection, even as if you’re beloved were to dwell in that house. It is to sow seeds with tenderness and reap the harvest with joy, even as if you’re beloved were to eat the fruit. It is to charge all things you fashion with a breath of your own spirit, And to know that all the blessed dead are standing about you and watching.” Why is it that so many people are willing to tolerate work they don’t enjoy for the sake of a paycheck? I think it’s because most of them simply don’t know what it’s really like to be in love with their work. Their fear is greater than their power, so they never make the leap into the unknown to find out what it’s like to work from love instead of for money. Don’t settle for less than you’re worth. Demand of yourself that you’ll do work you love — or no deal. Your negative emotions aren’t there to annoy you or distract you. They’re shouting at you, “This is wrong. You must do something else.” No amount of self-discipline or denial can silence your inner truth. Instead of turning away from those feelings of fear and resentment, turn towards them. Engage them head on. Dialog with them. Journal your way through them. Tune in and listen to them as deeply as you can. Get in touch with that deeper part of yourself you’ve been......

Habitat for Humanity Case Study

...Case Study #2: Habitat for Humanity Stephanie Eyler Organizational Behavior March 14, 2013 Out of the many non-profit organizations that are dedicated to helping others, there is one that is recognized as a leader in providing housing for those that would otherwise not have the opportunity for home ownership. With five area offices around the world, Habitat for Humanity is a leader in battling poverty housing. Since being founded in 1976, it has helped to build or repair over 600,000 homes, sheltering more than 3 million people worldwide on five continents and in 3,000 communities. Habitat for Humanity’s vision is to help “build a world where everyone has a decent place to live. “ Built on Christian beliefs, Habitat’s mission statement reflects these beliefs as the organization “seeks to put God’s love into action, by bringing people together to build homes, communities and hope.” However, Habitat does not discriminate against other religions, nor do they discriminate based on race, gender, color or sexual orientation. The organization sends a message of hope to the more than 2 billion people worldwide who live in slum housing, with more than 100 million being homeless, that they can and deserve to live in a decent, healthy and energy efficient home. In order to make this hope a reality, Habitat uses a volunteer workforce and donated materials to make these homes happen. Under the supervision of a trained and experienced leader on site, volunteers are......

Steely Associates

...Steeley Associates Monica Beamish Quantitative Methods – MAT 540 Dr. Hesh Ansari May 3, 2013 Steeley Associates Inc., is a property development company. Steeley had purchased a house build in the mid-1800, and had been leasing it to the State University for academic office space. In 2008, the lease on the property expired and Steeley Associates, after consideration, decided to build high-density student apartments. This decision would optimize the full space site. The community was opposed to this proposal and contacted the town’s legal counsel, who informed Steeley they would reject any request for permits. After a series of meetings, Steeley proposed three suggestions on how to handle the property. The suggestions were to request the permit to build student apartments, to sell the property outright and finally request a permit for a low-density office building. Based on the data, the best decision for Steeley Associates for the property is to attempt to build the student apartments. If the permit is approved Steeley could earn $3million. The Expected Monetary Value or EMV is $1.821 million. As indicated by the town council there is only a 10% chance of the permit being approved. Since there is a 90% chance the permit is rejected, the next step Steeley would take is to sue the town. Legal fees would cost Steeley $300,000. The EMV does lower to $1.69 million because of the legal fee costs, and the time it takes to sue......

Personal Statement

...and so I had only heard horrible stories of how poverty has afflicted my fellow man. Yet during the past summer my eyes were opened to the truth as I had the experience of my life while participating in the Appalachian Service Project. The Appalachian Service Project is a program that allows volunteers to travel to rural areas in order to repair the houses of families stricken by poverty. I was able to participate in this program last summer, and it opened my eyes to the plight of some Americans. I travelled to Barbourville, Kentucky, located in Knox County, and witnessed the type of situations that I had only heard about or seen on television. I worked to improve houses without basic utilities such as electricity and running water. There were also many houses that were simply falling apart, and nobody had the money to repair them. For about a week I had the chance to work on the house of a young couple. The husband had recently been in a hunting accident and was unable to work. As a result, he and his wife were unable to keep up with house repairs and so the house was in ruins. Yet, as I was working on their house, I noticed that these were two of the happiest people I had ever met. Although they seemed to have very little, they were still more than willing to share everything and anything they had. These people showed me that life is not all about what money can buy your, life is what you make of it. Although I was able to help this family in a small way,......
