The story of Chris McCandless should not have gotten as much attention as it received, it is the story of a foolish child who needlessly risked his life to prove something to himself, inspiring others to follow his so called courageous path. The act of being brave can be interrupted in various ways; nevertheless, bravery can generally be defined as a quality of spirit that enables a person to face danger, and to overcome fear. Bravery is a phrase with numerous connotations and therefore tends to vary from person to person; however, bravery and attempting to do something that could easily rob someone of their life are exact opposites.
