How Does Racial Profiling Affect The Future

Is somebody guilty just because of the skin they are born in? When it comes to racial profiling, this seems to be the case. Racial profiling is an act by which someone is searched based on race with no “evidence of criminal activity” (“Racial Profiling” 1). This not only creates an unfair judgment in the civil law, but also perpetuates racial stereotypes throughout society. Racial profiling causes stress and extreme psychological damages that can potentially ruin the future. These damages, however, can be helped if racial profiling were to be put to an end. Blame an individual and not his or her culture. Believe it or not, there are people who do not believe in …show more content…
They may even seem unimportant. However, these effects have the greatest impact on the world and its future. What most adults fail to realize is that they are not always going to be here. They will one day die, and their children will be the ones in charge. If the adults of the future are constantly being profiled by their race and segregated, what does that say about the future of the world? If a child grows up thinking racism is ok, then that is how he or she is going to think once an adult? Studies show that children who feel racialized in school are less likely to graduate or go to college (“Effects of Racial” 4). If less people of races who are typically racialized attend college, then there is going to be a huge decline diversity in professional businesses, which is only going to increase racial profiling. This pattern will continue on and on until racial profiling is put to an end. Now can people change their way of thinking? Of course they can! But first, someone must plant a seed before a plant may grow. Someone must first put the thought in their mind.
