1. Discuss how personal differences and preference can impact organizational ethics.

Human resources is the core component of any organization, therefore their behavior and attitude, or preference can seriously impact the ethics of an organization. This section of this paper is going to cover the impact of personal differences, and preferences on the ethics of any organization. According to Griffin (2009), “when you go into any job, no matter where you are in the world you will come across a multitude of individual differences and preferences, so an individual difference does not affect the individual alone, but everyone around them in an organization.” In an organization, there is no way an individual can be treated the same way as the other employees because everyone’s personality is difference. “Perhaps one employee has a dynamic personality and prefers being the center of attention in every discussion, whereas others avoid crowd and enjoy being alone.” (Griffin, 2009) However, that would be the personality that represents the overall profile of stable psychological attributes which captures the unique nature of that individual. Personality combines a set of physical and mental characteristics that reflect how a person looks, thinks, acts and feels. Therefore, trying to understand another person’s action is considered reading the person, which may or may not be right in an organization. Leaders or groups should not try to change or otherwise directly control employee personality, because trying to do so is generally impossible, so even if such control were possible, it would be highly unethical to the organization.
