How to build a dream team?

I was in Morocco, during the summer and I wanted to do something different that year.
So I started volunteering in the child hospital in Rabat. I was giving food to the persons that were accompanying the sick children. The people there were very poor and the little I could give them was huge for them.

But there I have noticed that the child were not doing any activities, they were always in there rooms and even if they moved from there, they were left alone in a room full of toys. As they were little, and not educated, they didn’t know how to play with it.

It is after that, that I have decided with a friend to create an association that organizes activities for them. I have twice a week there, making educative activities. They were learning how to speak in French, songs….

I did that all the summer. I am very proud about this, because for once I was not doing something just for me, I was helping others to feel better and it made me feel better.

Active inertia:

To help that, we have the model of PIT STOPS:
We have this in the formula worlds because to help the car to be better we have to stop.

Anything you do with a group, you need to stop.

What are the pit stops in a company?
- Meetings? Many meetings are part of active inertia. Very few are pit stops.
- Team building
- Start – finish
- Evaluation => individual => Collective evaluation
- Training, training gives energy.
- Coaching is also a pit stop, it’s a part of team development. Managing people is managing stops!
In a basketball match, the coach do not play, but during the stop the coach is doing the feedback. He has to let them play and after see the thing change.

How to build motivation?
We have to build/ set up a motivational environment.
Motivation is desire. We cannot ask to be motivated.
We try a lot of things to be motivated.

Motivation it can be: 1) Intrinsic: * Auto motivation: set up out own goals, ambition. * Give sense to action, it is the power of why. * Sharing with others * Do things for yourself! * Time frame * Do things you like! * Recognize small victories=> courage * + Internal dialogue * Coué (book): auto-suggestion 2) Sometimes it can come from the outside: extrinsic * Motivational environment: every time you build a common goal, you build a motivational environment. When my boss asks me what motivates me. Autonomy is a really strong need, people have to be autonomous. * Fear * Rewards =>. It can be dangerous because some companies are tight to this thing, it become a system. It has to be very little. Reward can be just a drink, a restaurant. Video: Motivational period
