1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th R Driving a manual transmission can make driving a car more fun. By driving a manual you can manage the power you give to your car. Whether you want to drive conservatively, or want to get somewhere with a purpose. Both are fine but to do either or. You need to learn the basics. There are three steps in to learning how to operate a manual transmission. Step 1: When preparing to drive a car you need to make sure that everything is safe for the road regardless if it a stick or automatic. When getting in the car make sure the e-brake (Emergency brake) is already in engaged. If not, do so. Make sure the car is in neutral. That means that the car is not in gear, also it another way you can tell is if the shifter can move horizontally back and forth. As you can notice there are 3 pedals. The pedal to the far left is called the clutch. Be aware that in some cars the e-brake can also be on the far left, but it’s easy to figure out which one is which. The middle is the break and the far right is the gas. Press the break and the clutch pedal together and turn the key. Once the engine turns on you can let go of the break and the clutch and your car should sit at an idle (when car is on and in park or neutral).
Let the car warm up first. This process should take about a minute. Then you’re ready for the next step Step 2: Start by pressing in the clutch and brake in at the same time. Also by doing so you want to release the e-brake. You’re brake pedal is your stopping power. If you’re on a hill keep in mind that you with roll down it, if not master the technique. The goal is to move forward, so you want to take your foot off the brake and slowly press the gas at the same time as you let off your right foot off the clutch. Starting on flat road or area when attempting it. When the car is move forward your RPM (Revolutions Per Minute) are going to build and you will need to shift up a gear. When it is time for it you are going to release the gas and put the clutch in and put the shifter in 2nd gear. Then release the clutch and continue on the gas. Think of it all in one motion. Step 3: when parking a stick. You need to be very concentrated. The technique on parking is to let the clutch put the car in to a spot. If it’s forwards, backwards, or even parallel, and what I mean by that is having the car in reverse and slowly letting out the clutch. You will see that you won’t even have to use gas in this step. Once in a spot, make sure you engage the e-brake firmly on. If you don’t the car could roll away which could lead to an accident. Also if you want you could put the car in gear after applying the e-brake. This would insure you that if the e-brake were to fail the car wouldn’t go anywhere. When practicing these thing make sure you have an experienced driver in operating a manual transmission. Make sure you in a place that not heavily populated with traffic. Cul-de-sac and parking lots are the best areas that I found to be good learning spots. And finally you need to obtain a driver’s license

...How to write/pass an essay? Research the topic. Go online, head to the library, or search an academic database or read newspapers. You may ask a reference librarian. •Know which sources are acceptable to your teacher. •Does your teacher want a certain number of primary sources and secondary sources? •Can you use Wikipedia? Wikipedia is often a good starting point for learning about a topic, but many teachers won't let you cite it because they want you to find more authoritative sources. Analyse well-written essays. In your research you'll probably come across really well-written (and not so well-written) arguments about your topic. Do some analysis to see what makes them work. •What claims does the author make? • Why do they sound good? Is it the logic, the sources, the writing, the structure? Is it something else? Brainstorm your own ideas. Sure, you can use the arguments of others to back up what you want to say. However, you need to come up with your original spin on the topic to make it uniquely yours. •Make lists of ideas. You can also try mind mapping. •Take your time. Walk in your neighbourhood or local park and think about your topic. Be prepared for ideas to come to you when you least expect them. Pick your thesis statement. •Look at the ideas that you generated. Choose one to three of your strongest ideas that support your topic. You should be able to support these ideas with evidence from your research. Plan your essay. Take the thoughts that you brainstormed...

If the essay is assigned, certain parameters will usually be defined for you, such as the length of the essay, format of the title page, and the intended audience (e.g. your teacher, an admissions committee, a cheating website) and what length is appropriate. No matter what, if you're given directions, follow them. A brilliant essay might still fail to get its point across if it doesn't follow the rules. Remember, the main point is what you should concentrate on. Stick to the question key words throughout your essay. If the question is given and it asks you to describe for example an important character in a novel, you must always refrain from saying an 'interesting character' or 'admirable character'. Stick to the words of the question. Ads by Google Looking for PhD Programs? Scholarship from Masdar Institute in collaboration with MIT.Apply Now Masdar.ac.ae 2 Choose a topic.
