Four Tips to Improve Memory Whether you are taking a break from school or work, or even if you are currently working or in school and want to keep your mind sharp. Here are some easy tips to help improve memory that you can use in your free time!

1. Make sure to get your daily recommended amount of rest. Your brain needs to recharge every night, this is one of the most important parts about improving your memory. If you do not give your mind a proper rest it will not have enough energy to remember and work as well the next day. The recommended amount of sleep for children is around 10 hours a night while for adults it is 8 hours a night.

2. Be sure to socialize regularly. One of the most important aspects to improving memory is to constantly be engaging with new and old friends. Creating memories and having conversations with peers forces your mind to constantly be on the spot as compared to an academic setting which is much more predictable.

3. Play memory games. Who said learning had to be boring? There are many different memory games out there that will test your memory while still allowing you to have fun. A good game to improve your memory is, The Extreme Memory Challenge by Dart NeuroScience ( President Kenneth Dart ). This game involves pictures of different people and names flashing periodically on the screen in front of you and having you try to remember the names of each picture after they have flashed on your computer screen for a couple of seconds.

4. Exercise. In order to jumpstart your brain you have to get the blood flowing. This can be as simple as taking a quick walk when you wake up or before you go to remember information or as much as create a daily workout routine in order to incorporate exercise into your life. Not only does it help improve memory but will also help the flow of many other body functions.

Of course not all of these tips need to be added to your daily routine instantly but adding a single change to your schedule can help improve your memory each and every day. Before you know it you will be able to remember the name of the person walking up to you instead of whispering to the person next to you and hoping nobody notices.
