If you’re like most people, you might have trouble controlling your weight. Maybe it’s under control, but it won’t go down to where you’d like it to be. There are several steps to a process that helps you lose weight. Remember, you have to be focused and be dedicated in order to meet your anticipated goal of losing weight. The first step is to weigh yourself and chart it. Each morning, weigh yourself on a digital scale and log it. However, your weight can be used as feedback to see what you’re doing right and motivate you. You can even go to a dietitian which can tell you how much of your body percentage is fat and muscle. A dietitian can also help you make a diet plan which can simplify your way to reach your body weight goal. There are plenty of magazines that focus on tips and motivation to those who are struggling to lose those extra pounds of body fat. The second step is planning your diet. Decide what eating schedule fits you well and how many calories a day you will intake. After that, choose your meals and make sure they are measured in the right portions. It is normal to get appetite between meals; in this case, you must have healthy snacks at reach like, granola bars, fruits, yogurt and vegetables according to your calorie count. 3 Days Diet Analyst

...Kimintang Sidibeh BI 213 Three Day Diet Analysis According to the food pyramid, my diet is horrible considering what I have consumed in these 3 days. It shows that I need to start eating more, and better quality foods. My sugar intake is too high and should be reconsidered. Possibly I could swap out processed sugars for natural sugars; such as in fruit. It is obvious from the records I have provided that I do not take in as much (if any) fruit that one should be consuming on a daily basis. Thus, not only am I depriving myself of vitamins, I am also depriving myself of the fiber needed in order for my digestive system and metabolism to work as necessary. I will have to incorporate more whole grains with fruit and vegetables to act as roughage, as going to the bathroom proves difficult for me- most likely this is why. I was astonished by how many carbohydrates I take in too. Eating a lot of carbs can add to the blockage/ movement in the bowels so I need to consider decreasing the TYPE of carbohydrates that I eat, cutting out white and processed breads and grains, replacing them for whole grains and wheat products. The only milk I intake is with my coffee and tea. Although I have four hot beverages a day with around 2 tablespoons of dairy, I am aware that this is no-where near the recommended 2 cups a day. On a good note however, I do not drink many sugary drinks at all- if any. Coffee, tea and water are my staple liquids therefore the sugar that I eat equals......

This Is How You Lose Her

...Yunior de las Casas’s voice sounds like no other in contemporary fiction—peppered with profanity and slang, code-switching seamlessly between Spanish and English, the language of the streets and the academy. Over the course of three books, and nearly two decades, Junot Díaz has used the character of Yunior to explore the intersections between love and loss, displacement and desire, within the American immigrant experience. In This Is How You Lose Her, Díaz focuses on Yunior’s own life as a successful writer and college professor struggling through a series of passionate romantic relationships. From the neighbourhoods of Santo Domingo through the rough streets of New Jersey to every brick of Harvard’s halls, Yunior’s journey closely mirrors that of his creator. In This Is How You Lose Her, Yunior’s voice holds all of these worlds at once in a singular and intoxicating balance. The collection begins with “The Sun, the Moon, the Stars.” Yunior paints a cynical picture of the upscale Dominican resort to which his girlfriend has dragged him on the eve of their ailing relationship’s demise: “A goddamn fortress, walled away from everybody else,” with “beaches so white they ache to be trampled.” Isolated there, he finds himself surrounded by “Garcías and Colóns” who “come to relax after a long month of oppressing the masses,” and the “melanin deficient Eurofucks” who look like “budget Foucaults … too many of them in the company of a dark-assed Dominican girl.”In this passage, as in......

3 Day Activity Anaysis

...3-Day Exercise Activity Analysis Nicole Pehrson SCI/241 May 10, 2013 Thomas Phillips In this paper, I will review my 3 day activity analysis of physical activities in my life and address ways to better this part of my life. I always feel like I am busy and always on the go. I work full time, school, and of course cleaning, cooking, and keeping up my house hold. As much as I feel I am always moving and on the go, I feel like I should be in better shape, but I’m not. This course has helped me learn to be healthier and in better shape, with not a lot of changes. My daily exercise habits are pretty minimal. I start in the morning with stretching then getting ready for work. I then come home and clean the house and cook. I then try and take an evening walk or jog. I just got my Insanity DVD’s back so I have started doing that as well. It is a 40 minute workout that I do in the evening. I enjoy doing this rather than walking or jogging, especially since it is getting so hot outside. I do not get a lot of exercise at work because I sit at a desk all day, but I make up for it when I get home by cleaning and my evening jog. One day a week I deep clean my house. This seems to really get my heart pumping because I dance around the house while doing so. I am always busy, but honestly I think I have more energy because I am always doing something rather than sitting at home. The super tracker results summary page showed that within the 3 days I tracked my exercise,......

How to Lose Weight Without Losing Your Mind

...problems and find it close to impossible to shed pounds. Making realistic goals, cleaning up your nutrition, and daily exercise can make it easier to lose weight. While making goals it’s crucial to set a time period and to be realistic; don’t expect 50 pounds to be gone in one week. It’s also best to keep in mind to be specific on how much you wish to lose, measurable such in a scale or dress size, and attainable with their daily schedule kept in mind. Keeping a nutritious diet (such as fruits, vegetables, and unprocessed foods) will help better your body and help your body get rid of the extra unnecessary glucose, fatty acids and amino acids. Even with a nutritious diet one’s weight loss goals cannot be accomplished without some form of exercise that best fit the individual’s needs, for example walking or jogging, yard work (mowing, raking, digging), dancing, swimming, biking, climbing stairs or hills, or playing a sport like tennis or basketball. Together these three key steps will help you lose weight without losing your mind. Losing weight is similar to writing an essay; you have to start by planning it out. Make your goal attainable, specific, measurable, and set a specific date on which you’ll reach your goal. Start off by specifying your weight loss goal to ten pounds and the time period by which you’d want to have accomplished this such as in one month’s time. You have to prerequisite a daily schedule to plan out how to make this goal possible. The daily schedule......

3-Day Diet Analysis

...Three Day Diet Analysis Hans, Ronald J. SCI 241 November 11, 2012 Stacey Nagy Three Day Diet Analysis Growing up I have always given my dad a hard time for his weight until about four years ago when he pulled out his wedding tux and I tried it on and could not fit in it. I am currently six foot four inches and weight approximately one hundred and fifty pounds so you can share my amazement when I found out that I couldn’t fit into my two hundred and fifty pound father’s tux. My dad got married when he was twenty two and I just turned twenty two, so I believe that it is about time to start being more a wear of what I eat. Being that I am currently underweight, I haven’t had to discipline myself when it comes to eating too much. My problem is that I do not eat enough of the right stuff. My three day food tracker account has shown me that my eating habits are horrible to say the least. I only managed to meet one daily food group target and that was only for two of the three days. I fell under the recommended calorie allowance on all three days as well. It is obviously that my diet needs help. Super Tracker recommends that I ingest 3200 calories per day. The highest I achieved in the past three days was only 2353 and that was because I almost ate an entire twelve inch pizza for dinner. Of the six classes of nutrients, Super Tracker recommends that I eat ten ounces of grains, four cups of vegetables, two and a half cups of fruit, three cups of dairy, seven ounces of......

Food Intake-3 Days

... Food Intake – 3 Days Edgar Burgos Cruz University of Phoenix SCI/220 Human Nutrition September 12, 2013 Prof. Pierre Edvrard Pharel Food Intake – 3 Days During this week, I Edgar Burgos had to conduct a food intake for 3 consecutive days. This paper will describe my nutritional endeavor for the past three days. I will provide different aspects of my nutritional needs and an in depth analysis on how proteins fats carbohydrates and fiber take part in my everyday diet and what are these functions. This is intended to broaden my views of a healthy lifestyle, and how to achieve it through a variety of food groups. During the 3 days food intake, I ate chicken, steak, beans, eggs and turkey which provided proteins. For carbohydrates I had: wheat bread, potatoes, lettuce, carrots, milk, apples, pasta, and white rice. Finally for lipids I had: vegetable oil, olive oil, regular butter and olives. My recorded protein, carbohydrates and lipids intakes are high compared to the recommendations of the Dietary Reference Intake (DRI) for my body measurements. The DRIs are recommendations for the amounts of energy, nutrients, and other food components that healthy people should consume in order to stay healthy, reduce the risk of chronic disease, and prevent deficiencies (Grosvenor & Smolin, 2012). Since my carbohydrates, lipids and proteins are high, I recommend eliminating the steak and any parts of the turkey and chicken which produces excess of fat. I would add more organically......

How to Lose Weight

...The first step in my plan to lose weight is to understand how to lose weight. The first step is easy to understand the explanation of exactly what is required for weight loss to take place. How it happens, why it happens, and most important of all... what you need to do in order to make it happen. You will need to know this in order to create your weight loss diet plan in step two. You need to know you’re calorie deficit, which is giving your body less calories than it needs. Weight loss is all about calories and more specifically, it's about creating a calorie deficit. You need to end up burning more calories than you consume. If your daily calorie maintenance level is 3000 calories, you will lose weight if you started eating 2500 calories a day. You would gain weight if you ate 3500 calories a day. By subtracting 500 calories from your maintenance level is the magic weight loss number here. The reason for that is because there are about 3500 calories in 1 pound of fat. So, if you ate 500 less calories each day for 7 days, it would equal the 3500 less calories required to lose 1 pound. So, by eating 500 calories below your daily maintenance level, you would lose about 1 pound per week. Now would be a good time to mention that the healthy, safe, good, smart, and all around right amount of weight to lose for most people is 1 or 2 pounds a week. Reducing your calorie intake by so much so fast is wrong, unsafe, unhealthy, bad, and stupid. You'd end up losing muscle instead of......

How to Lose Weight

...money and efforts on quick-result promising diets to  lose weight. However, by following some simple steps, you can definitely obtain successful results on weight loss and become slimmer.             The first step is absolutely motivation. Once you’ve made  up your mind, you should act determinedly. Undoubtedly, determination is the key to success. Even if all conditions are provided completely, lack of motivation results unsuccessfully. For instance, I recently read that a 116 kg-weighted young Mexican boy’s dream was to become a basketball player. You may reckon this looks unrealizable and impossible to attain.  But he achieved his goal, he is now 67 kg and plays in the local basketball team.              After being motivated completely to your goal, the second step is to provide a regular life with healthy diet. Several researches show us that sleeping more than 6 hours causes a gain of weight for adults. Likewise, eating more than your body needs is also an important reason to get weight. Avoiding food with fat and sugar will be very efficient to help you to lose weight. Changing  your life style might be difficult at the beginning, but in time, when you start to lose your first kilos, you’ll get used to it.              The last step to support your healthy life and to keep your weight at the desired level, is to join sport activities according to personal interest.  It’s common that people who try to lose weight or who already succeeded in losing their extra......

3 Day Food Intake

...3 Day Food Intake I will be discussing my three day food intake and putting it into perspective. I don’t fully agree with the result of the intake profile due to the lack of actual tools to truly add a person actual intake. I have recorded a three day food intake from March 14, 2014 to March 16, 2014 for the purpose of this report using Wiley Plus and Iprofile. The three day food intake gives a closer look at the nutritional value of the food I eat in my current diet. Furthermore I will be specifically discussing the intake of my protein, carbohydrates, lipids and fiber in my recorded three day food intake. Protein is needed by the body to help build muscle, but it is much more than that. Protein is in all your cells, accounting for you tissues and organs in the body. When you have too little protein your body starts to break down. Your body start taking the protein from your muscles to get the protein it needs. The organs and bones will be put at risk as well as a compromise immune function. Compared to fat and carbohydrate, protein is the most satiating of the macronutrients, meaning it will help fill you up and keep you feeling full so you avoid overeating and food cravings (Shade 2014). When you eat too much protein your body could raise your risk of serious diseases including cancer, heart disease, and liver or kidney problems. Partially, that is because so many protein-rich foods are also high in saturated fat, cholesterol and sodium, all of which can enhance risk......

Food Intake 3 Days

...Food Intake 3 Days Working with the Wiley PLUS iProfile has gotten better. At first it was not that much fun entering food was difficult. After working with the program it has gotten easier and I like working with it. And that is a big part of being able to use a tool like this. If you do not like it you will not use it. Reviewing the foods that I taken in over the three days the protein that I take in is mostly from Beef and chicken. But I am learning that there is protein in a lot of what I eat that I did not know about. Like in coffee, potato chips, salad, chocolate candy. This was shocking to me; my thought pattern was that all proteins are just from meat. Next I looked at carbohydrates witch I believed that they only came from bread. As I am learning that it comes from other things like salad, iced tea, jalapenos, and cheese. Looking for the lipid in my diet according to My Pyramid I have no intake of Oil. That is there is no present age of oil or it is under ten present. Which I thought that there would be a lot more oil in my food just in the cooking of the food. After reviewing my DRI I noticed that my carbohydrate intake is too low. I take in 182 g and it should be 311 – 449 g. To change this could add more whole grain breads and pastas because that would add carbohydrates and more fiber. My protein is also to low I get 47 g when I should be getting about 69 – 242 g. To get that up I am going to try and eat more turkey. And with the......

How to Lose Weight Without Losing Your Mind

...How to lose weight without losing your mind In today’s society, we are bombarded with weight loss products and programs. Everywhere you look, it’s low-fat this and reduced calories that. It seems every other commercial is advertising some miracle diet pill or program. According to John Phillip, “Every day fitness clubs are opening up on every corner and new weight loss books are being published at lightning speed”(92). Even with all this going on around us we are still not losing any weight at all. We are doing this and it is driving our friends, family and ourselves insane. We are causing our minds to explode and bodies with all the diets and pills. So if these things are not working how do we lose the weight and keep it off?, by light exercising, alternative snacking, and by letting your body receive sleep. I have taken the pills, tried the diets, even cabbage soup, and spent an enormous amount of money on programs to help me. Finally one day after stepping on the scales and seeing that after a week of dieting I had not lost one pound, I started thinking about metabolism. I knew metabolism had to do with the rate in which your body uses up or “burns calories”( Stanley). So I learned that if you have a higher metabolism, you burn calories faster than consume them, making you lose weight. Here are just a few simple steps to consider as you battle with your metabolism. Light Exercises I know exercise is most definitely not a word that most dieters wants to even......

3 Day Exercise Analysis

...3-DAY EXERCISE ACTIVITY ANALYSIS Che Harper SCI 241 JULY 6, 2012 PROFESSOR LAWYER 3-DAY EXERCISE ACTIVITY ANALYSIS What are your current exercise habits? My current exercise habits are going to the gym at least three days per week for one hour. I focus primarily on cardio because it helps to burn fat. I complete thirty minutes of cardio and 30 minutes of strength training everyday because I want to lose and tone! I find it easier to go to a gym as opposed to walking around my neighborhood. I tried that and felt discouraged, not quite sure why. But the gym is working so much better for me. According to SuperTracker results summary page, what were your credited minutes, total expended calories, physical activity score, and physical activity assessment results? Provide a screenshot of your results summary. The amount of minutes I exercised for four days were 360 minutes. I spend 30 minutes on the stationary bike and 30 minutes on the elliptical machine. I burned 1148 calories daily or 4592 calories over the four days (not sure why the tracker did not include this). I guess I did it incorrectly because I was not provided a physical activity score or assessment results. I could not locate the SuperTracker results summary page.
