How to study smart? Ninety-nine percent! Can anyone tell me what this number stands for? This figure corresponds to the average grade an ordinary student craves for. I myself also wanted to reach a grade that is as high as ninety-nine. And, honestly you too dreamt of having a mark that is close to perfect one, right? Yes, of course. Today, people continue to search new discoveries that will improve the human life. This is the scenario that everyone expects—to improve, and so with our grades. Every student is expected to get a high rating, but in reality this ninety-nine percent that we like becomes seventy-nine percent or even seventy-five percent. It is really hard to acquire such high grades, but each one of us can make the impossible possible. Everybody has the capability to turn seventy-five into ninety-five or beyond. But how can we do that? To our teacher, Ma’am Clara Gonzales, and to my beloved classmates, a pleasant afternoon to each and everyone of you. Getting a high grade is difficult to do. However, “difficult” is not a word of a student who studies in a smart way. So, how to study smart? These are two principles I know that could make us study smart. First, “be responsible.” There is a quotation that goes this way, “There is no hard task in a responsible person. Being responsible for me is not being an “all-day and all-night studying” student. Rather, being responsible is being able to manage ones’ time in an effective manner. A task becomes difficult or hard if you’re in a rush. If you are in this situation doing your work, that’s the time you cannot think very well. Because of doing things quickly, you forget to understand things if it is the right one, the true one, or the correct one. You will not be able to improve your work, correct your work, and make it better because

Utilizing smart grids in this fashion is different from the current electricity infrastructure as far as not using transmission lines to telephone poles to meters. (Kenneth c. Laudon, 2012) Developing a smart grid requires management of information. Technology is needed to operate the network for power control, monitoring the sensors so that the energy utilized is tracked. How I Got Smart Reading Response

...September 2014 How I Got Smart Reading Response This article’s title says it all. It is a story about how a guy got smart. In the first few paragraphs, the author talks about how students view teachers as bookworms who would study a lot rather than playing and end up to be a teacher anyway. He mentions that he tried to explain that the image that they are picturing during his adolescence is wrong. He hated compulsory education with a passion. I believe that the author’s argument is that everyone is smart in their own way. He argues that he did not get smart by the way most of the students would assume right away that just because ones a teacher, then they have been a book worm and just studied a lot during their adolescence. This is why the author told a story about an experience that changed his life. An experience on how he got smart and this is because of a girl named Debbie. Just like a typical high school student, he fell in love with Debbie at first sight and since she was an intelligent lady, the author felt obliged to be intelligent as well to impress her. Though the storyline ended as the incentive being gone because the author just got led on by Debbie, he says that “Having savored the heady wine of knowledge, I could not now alter my course”. Reading this article made me think how we all have different backgrounds on why who we are now and how we all have our own ways on how we become who we are and what we are. I believe that everybody is smart in their own way...

...clothes to wear, what music to listen to, how competitive we are, and even how environmentally conservative we are. Kotler and Keller (2014) define cultural influences to consumer behavior as “key institutions… [governing the way] a child grows up” in one country compared to a child in another (pp. 152-153), or other specific subculture identifications such as “nationalities, religions, [or] racial groups…” (Kotler & Keller) A vast amount of research has been done on environmental topics which “have emerged as one of the most important economic policy issues… and many view energy efficiency… [would help] to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.” (Allcott, 2011) “cultural knowledge includes implicit theories about the world we live in that are largely shared by the members of our society.” (LaPlante, 2005) Thus, the popular beliefs amongst one’s peers in conjunction with widespread word of mouth lend to similar thoughts amongst the ‘Generation Y’ demographic. The speculation of global warming and climate change has sparked many people to begin trying to make changes in the way their lives are lived, including installing devices that can make their homes ‘smarter’, and more environmentally friendly. Energy conservation, and environmental issues are very important topics in the world today. As a result the U.S. electrical system has undergone some revolutionary social changes in the past few years (Levinson, 2010) by creating a smart grid in additional efforts to try and reduce...
