The Ashes
Rita looked at the expensive jeweled vase like a child looking at candy. Rita loved expensive looking furniture and fabrics. The woman thought the vase would match with her four-thousand dollar bookcase she had custom made in France. Rita walked to the counter in the pawnshop and found a sales person.
“Hello ma’am, how may I help you?” the sales clerk asked.
“Hi sir, I was wondering the cost of this beautiful vase? Rita questioned.
“It would be four hundred dollars,” he answered.
“Four hundred dollars that is insane! I bet the jewels are not even real,” she roared.
“Ma’am this is a one of kind item! How dare you come into my store and call them fake! I must ask of you at least three hundred dollars,” he said

Suddenly the flames became a bright blue color and the flames were impossible to tame, inside the flames were skulls. Then came a crash, Rita found Floyd’s body on the ground. Floyd was dead. Rita called the doctor but there was nothing that he could do. Rita prepared for Floyd’s funeral.
The next day Rita took a look at the vase and it had creole-like writings on it. She went back to the pawnshop and looked for the salesman but he was on vacation. That very night Rita cried harder than she had ever cried before thinking on how she could be so selfish in the first place.
Later in the afternoon Rita found the salesman walking in on First-Street and Melbourne. She ran to him quickly and said,
“Sir… please help me my husband had died yesterday”, she spoke frantically,”the vase you sold me had someone's ashes inside it, my husband put the ashes in the fireplace and he instantly died!
