To whom it may concern,

I would like to apply for a position as one of your cashiers. I heard about the job through a friend who is employed here. I believe I would be a good fit to fill this position and would be beneficial to your team.

I’m a student at Keller high school and in the top 5% of my class. I participated in several clubs including Health Occupation Students of America, Student Council, Circle of Friends and math team. I have taken pre-ap and Ap classes throughout my entire school career I’m not afraid of hard work and want to be the best I can. In the past I have babysat for a few families, but that’s all the job experience I have so far and this could be a great opportunity for me to add to that. In seventh grade I won an award for my scores on the ACT when I took it with Duke TIP. I believe I could be an asset to this establishment, while also learning a tremendous amount.

I have enclosed my resume, and several references below.

Thank you for taking the time to contemplate hiring me, I know that if you give me the opportunity I would be successful in this position. I have all of the necessary skills for this job and know that I could become an even better worker. Employing me would be an advantageous endeavor for both of us.
