P1: Explain the factor that affect the access of complementary therapy
There are many factors that can affect the access of complementary therapies for an individual. these are some of the factors that affect complementary therapies:
 Physical factors: these barriers include whether or not the service user can access the building in which the complementary therapy is taking place. The individual may face problems such as morbidity issues which uses wheelchair and it is difficult for them to travel or have access to the building. Another example could be that the person might be the person is bed ridden so they cannot get access to any therapy.
 Geographic barriers: this is associated with where a person lives which may determine how easy it would be for a person to go to where the complementary therapy take place, whether or not there is access to the therapy using public transport. Therefore, geographic factors do affect the so if a person lives in a subarea they are less likely to be many complementary therapy making it difficult for the individual to travel long distance to get to the complementary therapy but if the complementary therapy that the person need is in the area due to less congregation or very little traffic make it easy for the individual to easily access the therapy.
 Socio economic: this issue can arise with how the service user is economically secure. The service users have to pay a certain amount for using the service of the therapy and this affect the complementary therapy; so some people may find it difficult to pay for the therapy as well as the additional costs such as taxi or public transport if needed, this might be because of their health issues which enable them to work ad to pay for the therapy
 Cultural barriers: Cultural barriers stem from the beliefs of an individual, and whether or not this type of practice is acceptable in relation to their religion or culture, but may also be a result of perceived efficacy of the therapies in question.
