The Hubble Space Telescope
It’s always been something that I found interesting, astrology, and I decided to do some research on the Hubble telescope, how it came to be, and how it got the name. It was named after an astrologer by the name of Edwin Hubble, who lived in the early 1900’s. Basically Dr. Hubble was trying to prove another astrologer’s theory to be incorrect. Dr. Hubble used Dr. Shapley’s method of measuring distance by light, and found that there were stars much further out than had been originally thought. Thus Edwin Hubble discovered that the cosmos.
In the 1940’s an astronomer by the name of Lyman Spitzer who wrote a report about the advantages of having an observatory orbiting the earth. Over the next few decades the Hubble
