Human Resources Management Roles

Human resources (HR) managers have many roles in the workplace. According to Wynn (2013), “Human Resources isn’t a thing we do. It’s the thing that runs our business” (2). One of the most important roles is the recruitment and selection of new staff members. HR managers are also responsible for protecting the statutory and contractual rights of their employees. They must not only know the laws protecting themselves and their staff but also respect those rights.

Recruitment and Selection It is the HR manager’s role to recruit and select new staff members. Recruitment includes setting goals to find candidates that qualify for the position and making an advertising plan to market to

All organizations have a management structure that determines relationships between the different activities and the members, and subdivides and assign roles, responsibilities; and authority to carry out different task.” (Sources: http://www.businessdictionary.com/definition/organization.html) From that statement, my understanding about organisation is a group of people that is specifically organised within their area and cooperates with each other within the group or usually define as a group of people working together to achieve common goal. ...Maisonneuve et al. BMC Medical Education (2015) 15:154 DOI 10.1186/s12909-015-0435-x RESEARCH ARTICLE Open Access How do general practice residents use social networking sites in asynchronous distance learning? Hubert Maisonneuve1*†, Juliette Chambe2, Mathieu Lorenzo2 and Thierry Pelaccia3*† Abstract Background: Blended learning environments - involving both face-to-face and remote interactions - make it easier to adapt learning programs to constraints such as residents’ location and low teacher-student ratio. Social networking sites (SNS) such as Facebook®, while not originally intended to be used as learning environments, may be adapted for the distance-learning part of training programs. The purpose of our study was to explore the use of SNS for asynchronous distance learning in a blended learning environment as well as its influence on learners’ face-to-face interactions. Methods: We conducted a qualitative study and carried out semi-structured interviews. We performed purposeful sampling for maximal variation to include eight general practice residents in 2nd and 3rd year training. A thematic analysis was performed. Results: The social integration of SNS facilitates the engagement of users in their learning tasks. This may also stimulate students’ interactions and group cohesion when members meet up in person. Conclusions: Most of the general practice residents who work in the blended learning environment we studied had a positive appraisal on...

The purpose of a strategic audit is essentially to answer the question, “What condition is this firm in?” Because the audit is focused toward answering this question, there must be a conclusion about what the audit shows. Therefore, while this is mostly an objective, informative report, there is a persuasive twist at the end. 1 The point of this assignment is to see how well you can research, interpret,...

...creator or licensee. Saylor URL: http://www.saylor.org/books Saylor.org 1 Project Management in a Complex World Faster, cheaper, and better has become the mantra of not only profit-making organizations seeking to increase market share and profits but also nonprofits and governmental organizations seeking to increase their value to clients. Organizations are increasingly using projects to meet these goals. Projects are goal directed and time framed, and when managed well, projects deliver on time and within budget. This book is about how to manage projects well. All projects have common characteristics: every project has a scope, budget, and schedule. Projects also differ. Understanding how projects differ and what that difference means to the management of the project is critical to successfully managing a project. Large, complex projects need project management tools, systems, and processes that are very different from the small and less complex project. Within this text, we provide a tool for profiling a project based on the complexity of the project and describe the different project management approaches needed for the difference in project profiles. Project management is complicated. In some ways, this is a good thing because students who learn how to manage projects well will find it a rewarding career, and there will always be a demand for their services. Project management is complicated because projects consist of many activities that are interrelated...
