Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen of the jury. In the case that the prosecutor presented to you today, there is insufficient proof to convict. We would proudly ask for a verdict of not guilty. As we all have ascertained, the unexpected death of a seven-year-old premature adolescent took place recently. This child’s name was William Armstrong, or his sobriquet that he was most commonly labeled, Doodle. Doodle was born and raised on a farmstead, discrete and unattached with the rest of the world. He was born with a dilemma- to die, or simply suffer the rest of his existence. This intrepid young man chose to live and endeavor through this difficult trouble. But, without his brother, Armstrong wouldn’t have been able to ratify everything that everyone said that he couldn’t. Brother did a huge favor for Doodle. He let him live. Sometimes they fought, like the majority of all siblings, but were still best friends. Doodle views his brother as “infallible”, and looks up to him with the admiration that a lot of younger siblings have for their older siblings. Brother was extremely proud of Doodle. He knew that Doodle wasn’t normal. He knew that Doodle was supposed to do nothing his entire life. He was proud of him for making it this far. Doodle wasn’t a pushover anymore. He was more determined and stronger than he was before. Do you really believe my client would murder his best friend on purpose? Negative.

Your Honor, ladies and gentlemen of the jury, I would like to thank you for your attention. It is important that The Narrator experiences a fair hearing from his peers. As prosecution has pointed out, it is up to the State of North Carolina to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that my client committed murder to his brother and best friend.
