As you know I have been working to analyze the relevant costs in regards to the quality variations we’ve been encountering for our Ply Carrier project. Though all costs types apply in some respect, you will find that some costs are more relevant to our current situation than others. You will find the three costs (appraisal, prevention, and failure) detailed below:
For the most part, we already have the applicable quality measures that relate to our Appraisal costs in place. A quality inspection is completed every time a Ply Carrier is completed, this inspection is done with the proper updated form, equipment, and by someone other than the person who produced the original part. Though these items are done with regulated consistency, there is the continued possibility of human error. The periodical analysis of the quality assurance forms could provide us additional insight into our production process. As of right now, we do not use the QA forms for anything other than an insight if an external failure occurs; evaluating these forms to gain a broader understanding of our products random and non-random variations could reduce costs in the long run.
Preventative costs are more relative to our current production process. Though we have minor policies in place that prevent defects from appearing during the production process, they are not regulated diligently and sometimes do not occur at all. Out of the 15 materials that are used to create a Ply Carrier, only the Upper Carrier Guide Strip (UCGS) and the center cleat are required to meet our specifications. By detailing our quality requirements to our vendors, we can prevent failures from occurring from inadequate material. We can also provide more thorough and comprehensive training on preparatory steps to avoid human error during final production.
The last and most significant cost that we have been

...community issue? Building damage is a community issue for multiple reasons: 1. If no one is found guilty, the entire floor/dorm has to split the damage costs equally 2. Threatens the safety of people living in the dorms and makes people feel scared of certain areas of the dorm. 3. Causes maintenance crews to spend valuable time fixing things that should not have been broken in the first place. Crews should be spending time upgrading our campuses rather then fixing things that were already nicely put in place. Why it is important to come forward when building damage is caused? It is important to come forward when building damage is caused because: 1. If you don’t come forward, everyone in the entire dorm will get hit with a fee for something they had nothing to do. For example, if you break a washer and don’t come forward, everyone will have to pay for a new washer even if they haven’t even used that specific washer before. 2. Also, if you don’t come forward you will always have that monkey on your back that you caused people to pay for something they never did. 3. If you don’t come forward, eventually evidence can arise that you broke the specific object. Your punishment will be significantly worse and your reputation will be destroyed. Community billing charges and procedures To expand upon building charges and procedures: 1. Once a situation arises, everyone involved will be processed and given a chance to state their side of the story...

Phil201 Response Paper Advice

...Here's what I am looking for (and perhaps more importantly what I don't want to see). First of all, you must follow, thoroughly and exactly, all of the precise directions in the "Response Paper Instructions" document, which can be found under Course Content > Assignment Instructions. There is no substitute for reading and following all of the Instructions there. After you have read that Instructions document, you can move on to consider what I share below. I want you to succeed. The following is to help you avoid some common mistakes and shortcomings I've seen from past students. Note the following dos and don’ts.... 1. DO stick with the outline in the Instructions: you could even turn the five questions into headings (and sub-headings if necessary). DON’T go down rabbit trails. Avoid peripheral issues. I do not want to see a general article on the existence of God, I want to see an article responding precisely to the points that were specified. 2. DO focus on understanding and applying the arguments and concepts in the course materials. DON’T just repeat arguments verbatim from the book. I want you to refer to the book in your answers, however I don’t want you to just copy an argument out of the book and feel like you answered the objection. Explain how this argument from the book answers this particular claim. 3. DO take the article seriously and treat all “sides”...

...Guidelines on Writing a Philosophy Paper Author: Jim Pryor, Princeton University [pic] Philosophical writing is different from the writing you'll be asked to do in other courses. Most of the strategies described below will also serve you well when writing for other courses, but don't automatically assume that they all will. Nor should you assume that every writing guideline you've been given by other teachers is important when you're writing a philosophy paper. Some of those guidelines are routinely violated in good philosophical prose (e.g., see the guidelines on grammar, below). Contents • What Does One Do in a Philosophy Paper? • Three Stages of Writing o Early Stages o Write a Draft o Rewrite, and Keep Rewriting • Minor Points • How You'll Be Graded What Does One Do in a Philosophy Paper? 1. A philosophy paper consists of the reasoned defense of some claim Your paper must offer an argument. It can't consist in the mere report of your opinions, nor in a mere report of the opinions of the philosophers we discuss. You have to defend the claims you make. You have to offer reasons to believe them. So you can't just say: My view is that P. You must say something like: My view is that P. I believe this because... or: I find that the following considerations...provide a convincing argument for P. Similarly, don't just say: Descartes says that Q. Instead...

Personal Narrative: Art Censorship

...my 8th grade writing career, I have changed a lot. I used to despise writing assignments, and I always procrastinate when I have to work at home. Now I find myself enjoying some of the writing tasks. I still think some papers are pointless, but I have started to enjoy prompts such as narrative writing. In fact, I have even started to write my own story for fun. As a writer, I’d say I use pretty good language. I can describe things well, I’m good at organization, but I can improve on all of these. I also need to work on concentrating so that I don’t have to work late. A writer always has room to grow. While one may be excellent in some parts of writing, they’re not the best at everything. For me, I’d say I’m good at descriptions,...

...very paper needs an introduction. In fact, the introduction is the most important part of your paper, because few of your readers will ever read beyond it. And there's not much hope that any of them will if you don't grab their attention from the start. So it's a mystery why so many papers begin with twaddle like this excerpt from a conference on high performance computing. Massively parallel computers (MPCs), characterized by their scalable architectures, are a viable platform on which to solve the so-called grand-challenge problems. These distributed-memory systems are expandable and can achieve a proportional performance increase without changing the basic architecture. In order to take full advantage of scalable hardware, the application software must also be scalable to exploit the increased computing capacity. If you find your thoughts drifting away, don't feel bad; we have evidence that the authors felt the same way - consider the near-meaninglessness of the second sentence. The real weakness, though, is that this extreme form of ``grandmothering'' has no other function than to tell you something you already know, and wouldn't be comprehensible if you didn't already know. The paragraph is entirely superfluous to any reader who knows the meanings of ``scalable'' and ``grand-challenge problems.'' Other readers, who don't know the buzzwords, are discouraged from continuing. Everybody loses. I'm not going to give you the usual advice that you fuss and fret over...

Still I will proudly declare that there is something queer about it. Else, why should it be let so cheaply? And why have stood so long untenanted? John laughs at me, of course, but one expects that in marriage. John is practical in the extreme. He has no patience with faith, an intense horror of superstition, and he scoffs openly at any talk of things not to be felt and seen and put down in figures. John is a physician, and perhaps - (I would not say it to a living soul, of course, but this is dead paper and a great relief to my mind) - perhaps that is one reason I do not get well faster. You see he does not believe I am sick! And what can one do? If a physician of high standing, and one's own husband, assures friends and relatives that there is really nothing the matter with one but temporary nervous depression - a slight hysterical tendency - what is one to do? The Four Components In The Rhetorical Situation

...components to the rhetorical situation are the writer, the reader, the text, and the medium. The first rhetorical situation I will analyze is the writer, and to mainly focus on what exactly I am trying to get across for the readers. The first thing when I am going through the steps of a writer is to start from the top, I feel as if some people jump around but I like to go in order I feel like as if it gives me a sense of direction when coming up with a reason to write my paper. Going into the second step of the writer is trying to find out what my goal is and that basically means what do I want my final outcome to look like and will it affect anything else? And to wrap up the next two parts of the guide since they kind of blend in together, is that I always want my readers to know the reason behind my own writing, I don’t want to leave them on a cliff, I always explain to them why I am writing this essay or prompt....
