About Me

...I'm Reece, people don't ever really miss me. I'm never the first person anyone looks for in a crowded room. I'm just me. take it or leave it. I'm not all that confident. I know I am not smart. I read people much better than books. I never have the words to explain my feelings. I'm only as funny as I feel. and I do not think I'm pretty. I tend to think up convocations in my head before even having them and get annoyed when they don’t go how I planned. I sometimes walk with my head down. I think horrible things about people. I'm not as nice as I'd like to be or as innocent as you'd think I am. I mostly speak before thinking. I confuse myself more times then what I do speak. I'm a big dreamer with little motivation. I'm really bad at making choices for myself. I am really no good at all on my own. and I don't understand how anyone could ever be the same. I hate being alone, but sometimes it feels like that’s all I am (lonely) People seem to hear what I have to say but never really listen. I find my mind to be a beautiful thing but then again it can drive me crazy. I never was good enough like I was disappointing people in anything I did or said. I have never completed anything big in my life, I think that it will be forgotten once I do it so what's the point. I think more about my past or future then what I do living in the moment. I fear things more then what I would lead on. I feel the need to make things perfect but after trying for so long I don’t...

The Four Colors

...9/17/08 Part I: According to the Personality Color Test that we all took in class, the color that I scored the highest with was Green. The test tells that Green is the color that signifies innovation, knowledge, learning, and many other things tied to academia and rational thought. People who are dominantly Green may see themselves as being rational and philosophical, inventive and curious, and above all else versatile in everything they do and work to improve. I personally see certain Green behaviors in just about every facet of my life. I like to think that I’m a person who tries to understand the deeper meaning in the things we do and the reasons we do them. I like to think that I’m flexible in how things are done and that I’m easily able to fix or adjust what truly needs fixing, and that I’m able to gradually adapt to new situations as they come. But not to the point where it alienates the people around me or that it feels like I’m changing something just for the sake of doing it. As the old saying goes, “If it’s not broke, then don’t fix it.” At first glance, Green may seem like a very beneficial personality color, but like everything else in life, there is always bad to come with the good. “Greens” can often be seen as being intolerant; especially in areas were incompetence with something is concerned. They can also be viewed as being arrogant, unappreciative of others, critical of others, and even just plain weird and unrealistic. I especially...

For Writing

...bound to the original form of this question; you may need to revise it or supersede it several times as you move along. Keep a record of how your governing question evolves. *Although it is important to "begin" your focused exploration with a governing question and to make that question clear early on in your thesis, you need not -in fact, probably can not -- begin the entire research and writing process with a question. It takes a lot of work -- reading, talking with people, thinking -- to generate and focus your governing question. 2. Show your readers what leads you to pose your question in the first place. Your governing question derives from competing observations, i.e., observations that appear to you to be in tension with one another and to indicate an apparent puzzle, problem, discrepancy, oversight, mystery, contradiction, or surprise. In the introduction to your piece, let your readers know how what you observe leads you to ask the question you ask. 3. Identify your subordinate questions. Just as the thesis as a whole is a...

...take this here Josephine to be your wife for all days till death do you part? Husband: Well, what do you think? Priest (confused): I don't know. Husband: Do you really think I brought 200 of my closest friends and relatives, who all by the way dressed in fancy clothes,  who all brushed their teeth and trimmed their beards, who spent gallons of perfume and hair products in order  to look pretty and smell nice, just so I can announce to the world that this is not the girl I want to marry?  Do you  really think that is the case? Priest: Well, I, I... Husband: Another thing. Death. Priest: What? Husband: Death. Death. Why would you even mention it in your question? This is a wedding. In case you didn't notice, word death is a little depressing.  I don't think it fits the occasion. It's more like a word you would mention at, oh here is the idea, the funeral or something. Are you new at this? Priest (quietly): No, but obviously you are. I wouldn't worry about it, just give it a couple of years of marriage, and death won't sound so depressing anymore. Husband: And how the hell would you know? How many times have you been married? Priest: I cannot marry. I'm a priest. Husband: Well, ain't that just peachy. A single guy. Priest: I just say what they tell me. Just for your information, I'm getting a lot of feedback from almost half of the guys I wed. They all basically say the same thing; wedding rocks, marriage sucks.  Husband: And...

Reflection Letter

...2005. I can see that this program has lots to offer for student. The course I’m taking is Electrical Engineering, and I’m very thrilled to further my education at ITT-Tech. In this letter I’ll discuss my past challenges from being in school, to my strengths as a student. Also I’ll be going over plans and ideas I’ll be using to do my very best, to meet expectations. My biggest difficulties and weakness that I’ve always had in my past years of school, had been being able to speak in groups and presentations. It’s been a big challenge that I had trouble over coming back in High School. Sometimes I tend to over think thoughts, or get to nervous with speaking out clearly with thoughts and ideas. I plan to over come this difficulty by not over thinking certain ideas, situations, and being able to get ideas out. I also plan on working more in groups and participating more. One of things I enjoy about these courses, are the group presentations that are required by most classes. This will definitely help getting past that shyness, that I always had in the past when it came to presentations. This is something I’m looking forward in future projects and assignments. Some of my strengths are working in groups, paying attention to detail, and being creative. I like being able to work in a group and bring different ideas or skills together, to complete certain tasks or projects. Whether it’s a small project like putting ideas together, to finish research on a topic. I even...

Miley Cyrus Analysis

...not talking about Miley Cyrus? At the time I’m writing this, her Wrecking Ball video has 473 271 879 views on YouTube. Everyone has something to say and most of the time, their opinions are the same. And this makes me think that we can’t all argue on a subject without hearing a different point of view. That’s why I’m here to show you how the singer is clearly beautifully bad but still have something great to share that will let you see her from a different point of view. Little Miley wrote in her biography: “The greatest opportunities in life come with fear and risk” and that’s totally what she did. First, no one can say she didn’t get his attention. Whatever Miley does: she twerks, she pretends to have sex with a wrecking ball, she does something normal or a new video is coming out, this singer is the thing...

...Make a Fourth Quarter Deal The Meeting G: Jason, I have such awesome news for you, I’m so glad you’re here. Betsy said that you are going out of town and I was wondering you know, is he going to be here or not because I have such awesome news. J: Yeah great. G: I have Bestel who is interested in investing 4 million dollars in this company, immediately. All we have to do is sign a few papers and we are done. Now the chairman of the board, do you remember Jack Schneider? Do you remember when he came in? J: I do. G: Ok. So I have known him since I was a kid, he’s almost like an uncle to me. Now he said, basically this is a done deal. Now his shareholders, they don’t get together until 2 weeks after the fourth quarter. But that’s not really a problem because I have talked to him, and worked everything out and done everything that he wanted me to do. J: does he have to get the shareholders to approve the deal? G: Well yeah of course. J: Well how is he going to do that if the quarter ends, he can’t legitimately sign the deal before he gets shareholder approval? G: Ok, well technically I know what you’re saying, but I’m telling you I know this guy. He’s like, like at thanksgiving and when I was growing up we would have picnics together, and he’s given me the OK. He says he’s got these shareholders on his side, and then he’ll have this meeting that’s kind of a technical problem but other than that, he said he will do it so it’s really not a problem. J: So if he does that though, are we...

An Incessant Failures

...Carlton has spent his life in the perpetual idea of getting dumped. But because of his one childish act, he was sent in a military school by his father and met enigmatic Audrey Griffith who stole his not-so-experienced heart and become a mystery. And after eight years of looking for her, Neill met the lovely Aimee Griffith who has the exact replica of Audrey and sure an enigma too. Urged down by their similar appearances, Neill was bound to discover the truth behind their mysteries… Introduction: Well, first of all, it's hard to narrate a story especially when a tragic music is stuck in your ears and the song tells about a girl wanting her guy back in her nonsense life when in fact I've never experienced having a girl, down-to-her-feet, longing for me to come back in her ingenious life. And then the next song saying that a guy asking for a lad's name and him confessing how the girl's beauty affected his innermost and now he's asking for a date and me not even a single thing experienced one of these and it’s kind of a routine. Anyway, this may sounds a little bit a bookworm of me but the truth is, I have read a hundred and twenty three books on how to win a girl's heart and with those incessant thoughts and words I have come to meet, none of it actually work. I don't know if I read the book cover quickly or didn't understand the selection really or getting dumped is just really in our blood. But as far as I can see, all of uncles, cousins and even...

Online Marketing

...Responding, converting, and measuring your marketing Now also, useful is going to respond. And what I mean by this is, if someone's out there talking about you or asking that question, even if it's not directed at you, you want to make sure that when you come back. And you see that message, you respond to it. For example, me and my kids were sitting at CTech airport one night. it was about midnight and we were waiting for our bags and waiting and waiting and I finally tweeted to Alaska Air because I know that they always respond to stuff online. I figured I'd hear in the morning. And I said I know you have a deal where if our bag takes longer than 20 minutes we get something cool what do we get because we've been here for way longer? Within two minutes, at midnight, someone from Alaska Air responded, and apologized, and explained what it was. And explained how I can go get it. Now as it turned out, this delay was not their fault, but you better believe that they made me into a real fan. Alaska Air really became, not only significant to me. But also just someone that I will go out and deliberately spread the word. So I became on of their group of the weird. And that's probably why when you go look on Facebook, Alaska Airlines whose you know a relatively small airline compared to some of the giants like United has 218,000 fans when most other airlines, the most popular pages they have. Are the ones with people complaining about them, so just keep that in mind. You can search actively...

...Fuller is dead and I went, “Wait a minute!” because I was working with the institute at the time, I went, “This is the guy who said, ‘death is yet --- [Background conversation] So Bucky Fuller 30 years --- [Background conversation] [0:01:47] So Bucky Fuller died 30 years ago and everybody went, “Bucky Fuller’s dead, we should wrap up all the stuff, put it in an archive.” And I went, “Wait a minute! This is the guy who said, ‘this is not me, this is yesterday’s breakfast. And when this is gone doesn’t mean I am gone, it means that you need to find other ways to communicate with me.’” And I actually just got an email yesterday from a woman who said, “Oh! I’ve been dreaming about Bucky Fuller and I actually saw him in the mall the other day.” And I am like, “Whoa! This is pretty interesting she’s in Australia.” And I think that his influence is like everywhere. [0:02:27] What I decided was that I was going to do -- that he had conducted a 56 year experiment to determine and document what one individual could achieve that could not be accomplished by any religion, government, organization of any kind. So it’s basically what one man can do and he documented it and I said, “Well, when somebody does an experiment, you don’t just archive it away. You actually examine it.” So that’s what I’d spent the last 30 years doing literally. And doing what he told us to do, which is what all the great teachers say, they all say, don’t believe a word I say, don’t believe a word I wrote, right...

Multi Tasking Interview

...RAEBURN: Now, I'm betting you have a real reason, besides the fact that we can barely understand what he says sometimes, for saying that he's - wouldn't be very good at GPS. But before you answer that, let me just remind people I'm Paul Raeburn. This is SCIENCE FRIDAY from NPR News. All right… Dr. NASS: Okay… RAEBURN: …so why would Dylan be a bad idea? Dr. NASS: The problem is that our brains are built that when we hear a voice, we associate with that voice - especially if it's a person's voice we know - all the characteristics and benefits and negatives associated with that voice. Now when it comes to navigation, we want someone who's known as being very precise, who's careful, who is alert and attentive to detail, and that's certainly not the image that Bob Dylan portrays. So generally, in fact, the idea of using famous people - unless those people are famous for exactly the things we would want in a GPS. So, if anyone knew what Hiawatha's voice sounded like… (Soundbite of laughter) Dr. NASS: …that would be a great voice for a GPS. But Bob Dylan is best served in other ways. RAEBURN: Now, tell us just a little bit more about - just briefly tick off a few of the other things you've done in machine-human communications. Then, we can talk about one or two. Dr. NASS: Well, we have a lot of recent work in the car space, having to do, for example, showing that the voice in the car as being about Bob Dylan. But for happy drivers, they drive much better with the happy voice...

...Philosophy vs. Science by Joseph Rowlands The historical relationship between science and philosophy has not been a friendly one.  Philosophers like to start with their conclusions, and work to prove them.  When it came to trying to figure out what the world was like, philosophers tended to argue about what the world should be like.  Science was born as a rejection of this method.  Its goal was to figure out what the world was really all about, and its primary tool was actual experimentation. We've all seen philosophy at its worst.  Philosophers are often completely disconnected from reality and, more recently, don't care.  Rationalism, the view that only deductive knowledge is really reliable, is commonplace.  Philosophers often expound their ideas from armchairs and ivory towers, where the facts of reality don't concern them. It's not surprising science would want to distance itself from philosophy.  It becomes even more personal for the scientist when he's told that he must conform to preconceived views of the world.  It started with Galileo having to renounce his scientific views on astronomy, but continued through the ages.  Countless other scientists have had to hide their views on topics like evolution, the age of the earth and the existence of glaciers, with a range of punishments from the inquisition and burning at the stake to losing their jobs or financing.  Philosophy, often in the form of religion, does not seek the truth. It seeks believers, and the truth is an...
