Big Groups:

Stand Up!

Its recommended to have at least 5 people to play it so I’ll explain it with 5 players.
Everyone has to sit down. Now someone has to stand up and shout “1”. But there’s no settled order. No one knows who will stand up but if more than one person stands up and shouts “1”, they are all out and the remaining players continue the game starting with 1 again. If only one person stands up and shouts “1”, the person is safe until the game ends. Now the next person to stand up has to shout “2”. If this person was also the only one and the one to shout 3 and 4 too, then the remaining last person loses the game.

The Flying Coin

materials needed: tape, a bowl (not too large but also not too small) with a bit water in it and coins.
You make a line on the floor with the tape and put the bowl a few meters behind the tape-line, about 2~3 meters (you can change the gap). One team starts. The members of the team have to stand ina a row behind the line. One after another, they have to throw the coin into the bowl. The first team where ALL members get their coin in with one try will win the game.

Small groups:

Hit The Mark

materials needed: piece of paper, marker, tape, (prizes optional) instructions: place a poster high up on a wall. one person runs across the room and jumps up, placing a mark as high as they can. then they are told to try again but place it higher. then the team is told they will be rewarded (ice cream, longer lunch honker, etc) if they can get this person to ale the mark higher. however, they cannot do it for the jumper and can’t touch them or provide a chair or other booster. they can only do this through encouragement.

Twenty questions

20 questions is an old party game which encourages deductive reasoning and creativity. One player is selected to think of an item. The rest of the group tries to guess the item by asking a question which can only be answered with a simple "Yes" or "No." Truthful answers only please, as anything else will ruin the game.

Catch the Thief

This game is played in a group (recommended to have at least 5 people).
You need as many cards as players (the cards have all the same back). On every card’s face is the same picture except on one (on this card stands thief). The cards will be distributed face down to the players. The players are sitting around a table and the game starts with the first player who will just give his card to the second player. The third player can choose one card from the second player (he only sees the back of the card). The fourth player can then choose one card from the third player and so on. When the last (first) player has chosen a card the game is over. Everyone has to show their card’s face now. The player with the thief card loses the game.

Ice Breaker 2

...Kaitlyn Di’ Flo 2/21/14 Every person has their own unique strengths and/or weaknesses. If everyone had the same strengths as each other then they would not be considered strengths. It is good to have strengths because it allows you to excel at something and be different from other people. Everyone is different in this world because of their personalities and their personal abilities. It is hard to recognize your own strengths because you are so used to it and it becomes a second nature, that’s why it is considered a strength. It becomes an everyday lifestyle to someone and they do not see it as a strength. A strength to someone could be a normal attribute to someone’s everyday life. One of my personal strengths is that I am very independent. I am able to take care of myself because I was raised that way. My parents raised me to be able to take care of myself because one day they will not be there for me and I will be living on my own and need to take care of myself. I learned a lot of things from watching my parents do everyday chores such as cook and clean and doing laundry. My parents are divorced and at a young age I learned to be the woman of the house because I live with my father. He works all day which is hard for him to come home and cook for my siblings and me. I wanted to help my father out as much as possible all while taking care of myself. I enjoy taking care of myself because I do not need to depend on someone else to take care of me. It makes me...

One evening I came home late, my husband and children were out for the night, I unlocked the front door, reach in to turn the light on and it doesn’t come on. I go back to my car for the flashlight. I need to identify where the problem is generated from. Why doesn’t the light turn on when the switch is switched on? 2. What is your background research? Check the neighborhood to see if electricity is out. Check to see if breaker has flipped. Check to see if the light bulb has burnt out. 3. Construct a hypothesis based on the facts given. Proximate Cause

...Proximate Cause’ is defined as “The active, efficient cause that sets in motion a chain of events, which brings about a result, without the intervention of any new or independent force”   Life itself is full of events, sometimes occurring independently of each other or as a result of another.  The principle, proximate cause identifies for insurance purposes, which event is the probable cause of a particular event, leading to a loss and whether this event is insured. Usually, the first and last events can be easily indentified but it is any intermediate events and causes, which happen, that may be more tricky to determine. The event chain must be carefully considered at each stage, questions as to whether that particular chain was broken by a new and intervening cause, using logic. Remote Causes These are when an original event has occurred and started the motion towards loss, when another new and independent cause occurs and the loss happens.  Usually a period of time elapses between the original cause and the remote cause.  The following two cases illustrate whether a remote cause can be considered as the proximate cause of a loss: In Roth v South Easthope Farmers' Mutual Insurance Co. (1918) lightning damaged a building and weakened a wall.  Shortly afterwards, the weakened wall was blown down by high winds.  Lightning was considered to be the proximate cause. In Gasgarth v Law Union Insurance Co. (1876) fire damaged a wall and weakened it.  Several days later a gale...

Testing Electrical Hypothesis

...working throughout. I have identified this by attempting to turn the lights on in each room with no luck of light. I know that if only one area of the house was affected that the issue would be likely found at the interior breaker of the home, but this is not the case. In developing a theory, I know none of the lights are working, which is an indicator that the problem is not a bulb issue or an interior breaker issue. I also know that the power company has no reported outages in the area. I do know that the house was built in the 50’s and the electrical panel has not been upgraded since the home was built. Based on this information my hypothesis is that issue is within the main breaker outside the home. Due to the age of the home and electrical panel, it is likely a burnt out fuse that has caused all the lights to not work. Just to be sure I have tested the interior breakers of the house by flipping them to the off position and back on, still no lights. I also tested the exterior breaker by flipping it to the off position and back on, still no light. Now by replacing the fuse and switching on the lights I have solved the problem and have light throughout the house. From the research above I have found the problem was in fact a burnt out fuse at the main breaker of the exterior of the house. Question 2: It’s dinner time, I have all the ingredients ready to cook but when I go to turn the stove on nothing happens. I look at the knobs to double check they are on in the correct...
