In today’s health care, illegal immigrants affect the economy in more ways than one may think. Think about all the personnel coming in and out of this country from practically every other country in the world seeking freedom, opportunity or any other dream they may have. Out of all of these people, how many are screened for health concerns that may affect other citizens. Slim to none. Even if the people are not trying to receive citizenship, their presence alone over a period can affect his or her health. In El Paso County Texas, tuberculosis cases are

Deport Illegal Immigrants Research Paper

...Many people claim that illegal immigrants are a big problem for this country, but in all honesty, it would be a bigger problem for this country if we tried to deport them all. There are many reasons why we should let the illegal immigrants stay in this country. We should not deport illegal immigrants because it would be extremely difficult and expensive, they are helpful and do not bring as much crime as people say, and it is unethical. First off, we should not deport illegal immigrants because it would be extremely difficult and expensive. Article 5 states that the cost of deporting one person is about $8,318 to $23,000. Illegal Immigration

...Abstract There can be little question, politically incorrect though it may be to argue it, that illegal immigration is a serious problem with serious ramifications for America. This paper explores the financial impact of illegal immigration upon our schools and how America's school children suffer as a result of illegal immigrants. Secondly, the paper explores how America's prison system is being overrun by illegal immigrants and the costs with which America has been saddled as a result. Finally, the paper briefly offers some suggestions on what can be done to protect America's borders and what the costs should be of such a measure. Illegal immigration in the U.S. is a major concern to the government to the government and it s citizens. This was not a major concern until lately in the past twenty years. There has been an alarming increase of illegal immigrants in the U.S. A debate has arisen over the amount of action that has been exerted on the behalf of the national government to control the amount of illegal immigrants in the country. This debate has brought up a controversial topic about if the national government or the state government should be in charge of controlling illegal immigration. Most of the illegal immigrants at this time are coming from Mexico, which means the bordering states are the major concern. Through the analysis of illegal immigrant adults and illegal immigrant children, this study makes the statement that the government must provide free education to illegal immigrant children, though they would bring a heavy burden to the US economy. This paper also offers alternatives on how to improve the new immigrants’ English level, so that newcomers don’t feel alienated. Lastly, the paper suggests a possible way to calculate the cost of education of illegal immigrant children, and recommends a win-win policy for both government and the children. ...Persuasive Essay Paper Jessica Ogunlanoh University of Phoenix April 11, 2010 Paula Brobst Essentials of College Writing/COMM 215 Ending Illegal Immigration Persuasive Essay Paper 1 As Benjamin Franklin once said, “In this world nothing is certain but death and taxes.” Unfortunately, none of us can live forever and while eliminating taxes seems like a long shot, we can certainly lower it. To do that, we must have a strong economy. To have a strong economy, we cannot have one of the biggest economic drains in the nation: Illegal Immigrants. There are an estimated number of twenty million illegal immigrants in the United States. These criminals are leeches of our economic system as most of them do not pay taxes. The criminals also drain our economy by taking our jobs. Illegal Immigrants ruin the standard of living for hard-working American citizens and legal immigrants by using our social service programs from OUR taxes. It’s not simply economical issues that make it horrible and preposterous for these criminals to be accepted, it’s moral principle. Illegal Immigrants in general, do not pay taxes. Why is that? These kinds of criminals are virtually invisible to law enforcement. They are undocumented. They don’t have valid birth certificates, social security cards or passports. Since they are about as easy to find as finding Waldo in the bible, they pretty much have simply an option...

Ethics of Undocumented Immigrants

...Ethics and Undocumented Immigrants Undocumented immigration is a controversial topic these days. There are many factors that make it so. There are many ethical issues involved with undocumented immigration, and they stem from the fact that undocumented immigrants are not officially recorded as being in the country. Undocumented immigration is also commonly termed as “illegal” immigration, and what makes it illegal is when a person flees their native country into another country while violating the immigration laws of the destination country. Before getting into the ethical issues surrounding undocumented immigrants, it is important to understand both what causes people to become undocumented immigrants, and what effects undocumented immigrants have on their destination country. There are many factors which may lead a person to illegally cross a border into the United States. The most common reason is economic, but other reasons include persecution in the home country, genocide, or a desire to escape a war-torn country. The majority of illegal immigrants in the United States come from Central America, and in particular Mexico. In many of these cases, one family member (usually a man) will cross the border into the United States in order to make more money and send it home to his family. The minimum wage for a day of work in Mexico is roughly $4. (Daily Minimum Wages 2008) In contrast, a Mexican who comes to work in the United States will make about double that amount...

...Show me your papers For the past two years, the state of Arizona has been causing a huge controversy that arose due to the enactment of the Senate Bill 1070, known as the Arizona law. This arguable state law gives the right to police officers to attain immigrants and take them into custody during lawful contact if they are found to not be carrying legal documents to prove that they are rightful immigrants of the United States. The Arizona law has caused a stir, as immigrants feel that they are not being treated fairly as other citizens and harshly targeted. Despite this, the Arizona law is a privilege to the state, for it gives a hand to the federal government when dealing with crimes affiliated with illegal immigration. Many senators and representatives of the state of Arizona support this law in order to guard citizens and lawful residents against vicious crimes that could be committed by illegal immigrants. According to John C. Eastman the state of Arizona has been challenged by crucial illegal immigration problems even before the passing of SB1070. These problems include the increased rate of drug usage, human-smuggling, unlawful transportation of those aliens, and huge numbers of illegal immigrants being captured at the Arizona-Mexico border. CBS news reported that “Forty-five percent of all immigrant arrests by U.S. Customs and Border Protection are made in Arizona, and smugglers use Phoenix as a hub for moving illegal immigrants across the country.” Further, Governor...

...Erick M Hudtwalcker Illegal Immigration English 102- Katema Lee Due Date: 04/14/08 Illegal Immigration The United States of America is a country made up of millions of people. Its society has many different cultures and religions. These blends of diversity make up America. The United State’s way of life is based on how people’s ancestors grew up and by the different traditions passed down from generation to generation. America is unique from most other countries in that she was founded by immigrants from numerous other countries. From Plymouth Rock in the seventeenth century to Ellis Island in the twentieth, people from every where came to America some were fleeing religious persecution and political chaos. Most of them came for economic reasons and were part of extensive migratory systems that responded to changing demands in labor markets; others, came here by choice and all eventually were integrated into the “American society” to become a homogenous people. These immigrants had a vision, work ethic, values, fortitude, imagination, and pioneering spirit which enabled her to become the greatest nation on earth. While it took longer for some than others, they and their descendents ultimately became "One nation, under God, with liberty and justice for all." Many, but not all, modern immigrants to the United States are not much different. However, unlike the distant past, immigration now consists of two components:...

Illegal Immigration: Pros

...Illegal Immigration: Is it good? Illegal immigration has been one of the most controversial subjects of the U.S. for the past few years. The mentality of the American becomes negative when the subject of illegal immigrants comes up. It is clear that most people do not realize why these people come to the U.S. Some may think they know; however, more than likely they are wrong. For a person to even begin to understand why illegal immigrants come to the U.S. they need to share their experience. People do not just leave because they want to; they leave to have a better life, and to have things they could not back home. Some people might ask if they going to come to the U.S. why not do it legally? People need to understand that the illegal immigrants do not want to come to the U.S. illegally they only do it because they do not have the time to do it legally. It is hard enough to live in a city where violence and poverty is spread throughout the city to judging them for coming without papers. Illegal immigrants want to have a better life for them and their children, mainly for the child because no parent wants to watch their child starve, get sick, and not be able to do anything about. Illegal immigrants are not going to care what other people think as long as they have a better life than before, the only time when that stops is when they cannot find a job or their family does not feel safe anymore. Illegal immigration has become in America consciousness a terrorism against job availability...

...Illegal Immigration and California COM 220 Illegal Immigration and California Everyone has an opinion on the immigration crisis gripping the nation. From border security restructuring to a complete overhaul of the system, anyone in this country has an idea to handle the ordeal. In preparing for this paper, this author spoke to family and friends for their opinions. One relative suggested the United States ratify Mexico as the 51st State, leaving the seated president in power as governor, turning each state into a county with the respective governors retitled as mayors. The working theory holds that the United States could then intervene and lend aid to the more impoverished areas of the newly formed state. Resulting from this, illegal Mexican immigration becomes a nonissue, Mexican citizens see improved living conditions within a few short years, and the United States gains a large tax-paying citizenship. Admittedly, without benefit of research or a visit to the country, this family member’s theory consists of stereotype and over-generalization. Even so, it illustrates the point. With unemployment rates soaring, and the economy in a tailspin, many blame illegal immigration for current turmoil, and many theories abound. California If considered as an independent nation, California would rank among the world’s 10 largest economies (Hutchinson Encyclopedia, California, 2009). From rural to metropolis; from dry desert to lush forest to sand beaches; from unemployed...

Immigration Debate

...citizenship we are inviting illegal immigrants to flock to our country for a free citizenship incentives. As closing proposition I would like to deconstruct the opposition’s arguments stating that EVERY SINGLE ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS CHILD SHOULD BE GRANTED CITIZENSHIP. I would also like to crystalize my opening proposition’s remarks and in addition, construct some new arguments and offer some solutions. Granting citizenship to the children of illegal immigrants makes illegally crossing into America a goal Well over 300,000 babies are born in America EVERY YEAR to illegal immigrants. These parents sneak into America illegally. Totally ignoring our laws that we as LEGAL citizens are obligated to uphold. Totally undermining our citizenship by taking advantage of the benefits that America offers, all while not paying taxes and not adhering to our government. How do we punish these criminals? By granting their children immediate and full citizenship. They are afforded every benefit America has to offer. Food stamps, well fair, public education, healthcare, and every other government program we have. They almost will certainly be using these benefits because as an illegal immigrant you are not permitted to work in the US. It’s easy to see why immigrants are sneaking into America: if they establish themselves with a legal citizen baby they are afforded a better life here by taking advantage of our generous government. If we stop giving every baby born to illegal immigrants citizenship, we would...

Welcoming the New Immigrants

...Welcoming the new immigrants? Leonel Camacho Regent University Professor Baugus Welcoming the new immigrants? Throughout American history, immigration has become a part of our nation’s dilemma which, began hundreds of years ago. It has become a daily argument in the US in recent years with illegal immigrants as the main focus. Illegal immigration is described as people entering a Country without the government permission. According to Preston Julia from the New York Times, in 2008, the Center for Immigration Studies conducted a study and concluded, there are an estimated 11 million illegal immigrants in the United States. Nations such as the United States, Canada, and Australia will always attract people that are in search for prosperity. Since the Twin Towers incident, many people in the United States are scared and have second thoughts of allowing immigrants to cross our borders. Therefore, some people think that immigration is a threat not just to U.S. security but also to our economy. A lot of individuals want the government to stop illegal immigration; but would it not affect the United States more to do so? As illegal immigration increases dramatically as the years go by, so has a concern about its effect on taxpayers. While other consequences are clearly significant, the financial impact of illegal immigration is at center stage of the ongoing debate. Amazingly, few studies have tried to calculate the net economic impact of illegal immigration in the United States...
