Free, at last! After countless and countless of prayers, Immaculée is finally free and safe. She is finally experiencing the air against her skin, something she has not felt in a very long time. She is out of the room with four walls, she has no boundaries around her, she is free! Once I read this part of the book I started to feel butterflies in my stomach. Even though I knew Immaculée was alive and going to be alright, just reading that she was free made me feel overwhelmed with joy. After reading and learning more about her story and all that she went through I was happy to see her free. When I read this line, I related it back to something I experience, and that is Spring. As a result of this never-ending, widespread violence and corruption, we are also living in a world of refugees.
