This is and will always be a hot topic, as year’s progress and people live on this earth. Unfortunately, this is where we all stand at the present. Chronic unemployment, the absence of a supportive family structure, poverty, homelessness, and discrimination, among other social factors and it does affect people's health, their physical environments, behaviors, and genetics makes up the ball of social wax (Longest, Jr. Beaufort B. (2010). Important determinant of health is availability of an access to health services, which are any hosts who takes on the task of improving the overall health of the public with preventive ways. An article: “What impact do health policies have on social factors”, written by Mr. Jason Chavis, one of eHow Contributor’s (1999-2012); states that; “global health policies have a major impacts on social conditions.” The poor policies will have a negative effect and will lead to poor health that will carry over to poor social conditions and definitely worse health. Sadly to say that this can be seen and felt all over the world, the United States as well. Especially, now that healthcare has recognized that the elderly population is living much longer then in the pass decades. And that long term care is here to stay, because not only the elderly population are filling these facilities up but the young population as well with head injuries, strokes, MS, Spinal Cord injuries are in need of this type of care as well.
To get a better understanding to the effects that are felt around the world I will list some more examples and studies that were conducted. India has an increased mortality rate among women during childbirth, one in 70 of childbearing age has died while giving birth, this has added to the already crowed and high level of orphans in that country. Harvard released a study back in September 2009, showing that over 45,000 Americans have died each year because of the lack of health care insurance, and these people are generally from poor socioeconomic backgrounds.
The BBC also states that premature deaths are in the world’s poorer neighborhoods, are commonplace. It brings about certain circumstances that favor the transient populations, which cuts off the social growth in the long run.
So what happens when the health policies are negatively impacting populations? The general conditions will seem to suffer the most. The World Health Organization (WHO), seem to say that poor health will lead to increased incidence of stress, malnutrition, environmental pollution and violence.
