Roles and Functions Paper
The four functions of management are planning, organization, staffing and directing all of this work together to make management run smoothly and more effectively. The planning part of any management team is very important because” generating plans of action for immediate, whether it is short term, medium term and long term projects that need to be done” (Bhatawdekar, 2009). “Organization is also important because organizing the resources, particularly human resources in the best possible manner” (Bhatawdekar, 2009). This would be like have the best person for the job by utilizing that person’s best skill. This could also be staffing hiring the right person for the job at the right time. Then there is directing this includes leading the personal, motivating, communicating and coordinating with the correct people all of these go hand in hand with management. (Lombardi & Schermerhorn, 2007) In the current job the need to organize is very important and once that is learned then the job will go by more smoothly. Taking care of others is very important and being organized makes it easier to get the job done without have to back track and redo what was already done. Having a role in management in the health care field is very important, organization is going to make the job work smoothly and also so be able to stay on top of the diversity of what the health care field will be able to do next (Lombardi & Schermerhorn, 2007). Knowing what is going to happen and preparing for what a person knows is just as important as keeping up with the new trends in the health care field. Being able to explain to the staff what is coming next and keeping the employees in the circle of information and communication (Bhatawdekar, 2009). One of the most important

As a manager for a busy call center, I have notice the volume of calls have doubled over the past year causing long queues for our internal and external customers. With the increasing number of complex patients, patients can have care provided from several different professionals with very different goals.
