In Love? Really?

My brother just broke up with his girlfriend. Ayan. Akala ko okay sila. But it's not. Dadating talaga sa punto na kayo nalang talaga ang magkakaintindihan. And their friends might like it or not. Intentionally or not, magagawa nila kayong saktan.

Anyway, what I'm trying to say is...falling in love sucks. Sa una lang yan. And you'll get tired of each other. And later, you'll start bickering like an old couple. And I'm just starting to wonder...do they ever loved each other? Or they just love the idea of being in love? Did they just engage in a relationship just to feel the "kilig"? Yun ang mga tanong ko. Mahal ba talaga nila ang isa't isa? It's not just only about my brother's relationship. I think it's about all of the couples. Kung mahal nila talaga yung nobya o nobyo nila, bakit sila nagbebreak? Again. Sa una lang lahat. Syempre you get to try things with your "loved one". Dates, movies, roadtrips surprises etc. etc. Then mauubusan ng idea. And of course, bilang dakilang third wheel ng lahat ng kaibigan ko na may ka-relasyon, nakita ko yung mga "flaws" nila. Bakit ganun? Nagsasawa sila then back to strangers? Ako nga nasasayangan sa months or years na sila. But yeah. Sino ba ako diba? I am just an observer. Maybe they're not mature enough to handle the situation. Especially for the first timers. Nakita ko yun sa friends ko. I thought they were happy. Also, the couple that I liked so much na super ko na nga i-ship. But those two were so complicated and confusing. Away bati. Away bati. The last one was my favorite. They're the perfect example of "maturity". And I hope they'll last.

So yeah. That's why I'm afraid. I don't think I'm emotionally healthy to engage in a relationship at such young age. Parang di ko makita yung sarili ko na meron nobyo. Yep. It's impossible for me to have one. Again, falling in love…...

The Great Gatsby - Does Gatsby Really Love Daisy?

...True love is not a state of mind, but a state of being. It is the ultimate force that drives ones actions, whether moral or not. Love binds people, and demands attention to only itself. True love is what Mr. Jay Gatsby is enticed by, and this driving force, is his one and only Daisy Buchanan. Gatsby persistently tries to win over Daisy’s love, despite the cards that fate has dealt for him. Jay Gatsby has a dream of being with Daisy, and shows the audience his true love for her, demonstrated by his actions of love, his persistence, and the great sacrifices he makes for her.! ! For Jay Gatsby to fulfill his dreams of being with such a woman like Daisy Buchanan, he begins to demonstrate his actions of love towards her. Gatsby has wanted to see Daisy again since the first time he met her, so the tea at Nick’s house was his first chance at the perfect moment to show his true feelings for her. He goes through great lengths to redecorate Nick’s house to impress Daisy, and going out of his way to make sure things go as planned. The reader is aware that these somewhat “unnecessary” actions from Gatsby portray the way he chooses to show his affection. As Gatsby sees Daisy, he recalls that it will be “five years next November” (Fitzgerald, 88) since they last met. It is evident that has has been counting the days that have gone by without Daisy, clearly a reaction from a man yearning for Daisy’s love in return. Gatsby’s greatest action of love is one that has been in progress for many years......

Romeo and Juliet: Romeo's Feelings

...When he says: “Here’s much to do with hate, but more to do with love” it shows that he thinks that the people feuding are stupid because they nearly love each other. He is saying that love and hate are very similar to each other and therefore the feud is useless. We know Romeo is feeling sad when he speaks of himself in the third person, “Tut, I have lost myself. I am not here. This is not Romeo: he’s some other where”, it shows how depressed Romeo is because his love was rejected by Rosaline. That tells us that Romeo is serious about his feelings and love. The use of oxymoron in Romeo’s speech makes him seem confused but wise, for example, “love is heavy and light” or “hot and cold”. “Love is heavy and light, bright and dark, hot and cold, sick and healthy, asleep and awake—it’s everything except what it is!” it shows how confused about love he is but it also shows how Romeo understands all the qualities of love. Because he understands all about love, we get a feeling that he is really serious about Rosaline and life. But even though he understands love, he thinks it does not last long. The use of metaphors in some of his speech makes the text interesting and helps Romeo express his feelings towards love “Love is a smoke made with the fume of sighs”. That quote shows how he thinks love doesn’t last because he is comparing love to smoke and fumes which both disappear into the air. Romeo is deeply in love with Rosaline in the first extract. This is shown......

...need love to survive.” We do need love just like we need food and sleep. When we are younger we should receive love because it’s possible that we could not develop to love others. It’s very important for babies to get love because if they don’t there is a high chance that they will grow up to be alone and will have low self esteem. I agree that the “mother-infant relationship is the essence of love.” I agree with this because our mothers are really the first people we develop a real relationship with and how learn to love. If we don’t establish that relationship with our mothers, it will be relatively hard to love other people. Babies slowly learn how to live in the world and having a relationship with their mother is very important for the baby to develop relationships with other people while they are still young as well as when they get older. I agree with the talk about criminals. It says that they usually didn’t get enough love and affection while they were growing up. If you don’t get enough love as a child, you could end up going down the wrong path. You will most likely end up doing bad things to try and make up the lack of love and affection that you received as a child. Children with inattentive parents sometimes end up being criminals because they never really had anyone show them love 3 Disagrees: I disagree that babies need “continuous loving.” I think they just need to know that their mother is there and will acknowledge them. They just need enough love so......

He Loves Me, He Love Me Not

...He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not I don’t know that there is a way to define what true romantic love is. Every person’s love is different because every person is different. Loving someone means accepting everything about that person without trying to change them. I think that romantic love is rare. It is human nature to care for someone and often times that gets confused with love. To me, love is when your 80 years old, sitting on your porch with your husband or wife, looking back on your life together with no regrets, and threw all the hard times, you still want to wake up to that person in the morning. In “What We Talk About When We Talk About Love,” One of the main characters, Terri, argues that despite Ed’s violent behavior he still loved her in his own way. I disagree with Terri when she says that there was any love in hers and Ed’s relationship. If you love someone you do not abuse him or her. During Terri and Ed’s marriage, Terri described a certain incident when Ed was particularly violent towards her. Terri says “He beat me up one night. He dragged me around the living room by my ankles. He kept saying, ‘I love you, I love you, you bitch.’ He went on dragging me around the living room. My head kept knocking on things… What do you do with love like that?”(350) I don’t think that you can love someone so much that you want to hurt them; it should be the exact opposite. When Terri looks back on Ed and her relationship she happens to only bring up the bad and the violent...

...to me, really portrays an uplifting and powerful message: You are beautiful no matter what they say Words can't bring you down....oh no You are beautiful in every single way Yes, words can't bring you down, oh, no So don't you bring me down today... I think that is a really important message for everyone to know. People in this world can be really cruel and hurtful, especially to younger people who may not fit the “perfect body” profile. Another song I love simply because of the lyrics is Mariah Carey’s “One Sweet Day”. I believe the song’s lyrics can be really helpful to someone during a time of loss: And I know you're shining down on me from heaven Like so many friends we've lost along the way And I know eventually we'll be together One sweet day Another song that I really love just for the lyrics and the simple message that the song portrays is a song that never really got all that popular on the radio by Pink called True Love. It is just a really simple, yet funny song. It fits me and not only my husband perfectly but the relationship with my children and I as well: At the same time, I wanna hug you I wanna wrap my hands around your neck You're an asshole but I love you And you make me so mad I ask myself Why I'm still here, or where could I go You're the only love I've ever known But I hate you, I really hate you, So much, I think it must be True love, true love It must be true love Nothing else can break my heart like True love, true......

Rental Heart Essay

...Kirsten Logan “The Rental Heart” Essay Love is hard, especially when we live in a world with so many millions of people, different, every single human being, so unique and away from other human beings on the earth. We live in a world were hatred, war and racism has dominated for years. And we keep asking ourselves, why? Why do we still need love? Why can’t we live without it, and sometimes can’t live with it? What does it mean for us, when our hearts tell us to fell something for other humans? Its questions we keep asking ourselves because we don’t know how to handle love, how to control it, how to balance between our bad and good emotions and in the end we don’t know what real love is, before getting heart, maybe a few times. Love, emotions, a broken heart that never ends feeling empty, it’s basically what the story is about in the novel “the Rental Heart”. The short story presents a protagonist as neuter story teller. We don’t really know anything about this person, which sex the teller has, looks, anything from the outside besides the tellers thoughts and the chronological story that tells about the various attempts at love. The narrator introduces us to many different types of persons “she” had a relationship with. but that isn’t the focus we have in the novel, it is really about the questions we have on the persons’ sex’. The narrator keeps switching sex on “her” lovers, and sometimes we wonder if “she” switches “her” own sex. for example the narrators switching......

Hamlet

...Chad Williams English 1302 Professor Wolfard 11 Jan 2015 Hamlet’s Hidden Love In William Shakespeare’s Hamlet, there is quite a bit of controversy as to whether Hamlet truly loved Ophelia or not. Although there is much evidence arguing that Hamlet never loved her and that he was just using her, there is even more evidence refuting that argument. By the way he acts when he is alone with Ophelia, he shows that his feelings for her are genuinely true. Hamlet shows throughout the play that he is really in love with Ophelia. The first piece of evidence that shows Hamlet really did love Ophelia is when he tells her, “I did love you.” Hamlet confesses that he loved her, but then goes on to say that he never loved her. This could be due to the fact that Hamlet knows his conversation with Ophelia is being overheard. There is evidence to prove this when Hamlet immediately asks Ophelia where her father is after they are done talking. When Ophelia tells him that Polonius is at home, Hamlet replies with, “Let the doors be shut upon him that he may play the fool nowhere but in his own house.” This implies that Hamlet knows Polonius is watching him. Another point in the story that validates Hamlet’s love for Ophelia is when Hamlet tells Ophelia to go to a nunnery. At first, it seems as though Hamlet is mocking her, but it is possible that Ophelia is pregnant with Hamlet’s child because immediately after he tells her, “Get thee to a nunnery”, Hamlet starts talking about breeding and...

It can be anything really, from an emotion to an affection and dedication. It can be your love for your parents. Love for God. Love for your friends and the long list goes on. Love symbolizes a lot of things and is described in a lot of ways. Love represents a lot of things. It is a universal thing. But probably the most dominant understanding of love to the common is the beating of one’s heart for another person. Romantic Love. Friendship is a certain bond between two people. Like acquaintances. It is the word that describes your relationship with your friend. The trials and experiences you had and the moments you chose to treasure forever. They can be from your closest classmates, workmates, and friends of friends. There are a lot of words that go well together. But does Love and Friendship mix well? It can actually. It all depends on the beholder. It depends on how he or she handles it and it also depends on his or her perception of the two simple but meaningful words. Do they see them as just words? Symbols? Signs? Codes? It doesn’t really matter that much. But what matters most? When you have Love, Friendship comes in a second. It becomes a little bit neglected. It dries out in your part when you are too much occupied with love. In friendship, being without love may seem......

Love’s Vessel: Emotionally Sentimental or Intellectually Fundamental?

...“Love” will be surely existent in our senses as the time get closer to Feb. 14, a day when passion is deeply associated with the heart. But my curiosity does not seem to be satisfied and it keeps me formulating various questions like; is it really true that the heart is the mastermind of love? What about the brain, is it also involved? Everybody hears the cliché when someone gets dumped; "My heart hurts". But does it actually hurt? And if it does, is it because they were in love? All reactions in the body start from the brain, right? Then the final question is; what should we use then in the name of love, our HEART or the BRAIN? The purpose of this article of mine is to put an end to this mystery and bring out the facts. I am assured that many young people like me are enthusiastically interested regarding this topic. Researching data of co notational definitions, BRAIN is the king of every living animal, and HEART is the genuine source of emotions. These two vital organs do really have a linking nexus. However, when it comes to love, it’s even more difficult to decipher what is really the actual function of these internal parts. So, can we say that brain is the starting point of love? And we feel the love through the heart, is that it? Let’s find out. According to an analysis by a Syracuse professor, it depends. That might be a very broad answer but based on her findings, she assimilated that you experience a similar sensation to one of using cocaine when you fall in......

Psychology Learning

...21 months ago I learned what it really feels like to love. My son was born March 2, 2012, at 6:48pm, weighing in at 8lbs 9oz. Since 6:48pm 21 months ago I have felt an unconditional love that I never knew existed. I cannot say for sure when I first started using the word love, but I can say that all my life up until my son was born I never really felt that I was capable of loving someone or something. I used to use this analogy in my head that if I loved someone I would care if they died, as in it would affect my life. I tried other scenarios, such as if I put the purposed loved one before my own wants and needs, but it never worked because I am the type of person who would always put others needs and wants before my own. In the same regard it didn’t mean love because I couldn’t care less if everyone disappeared, cause in the end I don’t really care for people as a whole all that much. So all I was left with was the death scenario, I knew once I found someone whom I could bear losing that I had found my ability to love. I applied that theory to my parents, sibling, extended family, friends, and lovers throughout my life and the answer always left me not really loving anyone. I would tell those people I loved them because it gave them happiness, but for me it was an empty word because it held no meaning, and it always gave me a sad feeling to know I was essentially lying to them. I couldn’t very well just tell them I really cared for them but I didn’t care if they disappeared......
