My name is Michelle Boucher and I was born and raised in a small farming community in Vermont. I graduated high school early in January 1981 and moved to Connecticut with my future husband. I got a position as a part-time teller in a bank. From 1981 to 1992, I was promoted to several different positions, and I was eventually promoted to Teller Supervisor.
In 1991, my husband and I divorced and I moved back to Vermont. I got a position working in the banking industry. I was hired as a Teller Supervisor and was promoted to Branch Manager in Woodstock, Vermont. I remained there until the branch closed in July 1992. After two months of unemployment, I became employed at another bank as Branch supervisor in February 1993.
In October 1993, I started having physical problems, unable to count money and standing for any length time. By August 1994, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. I worked until September 1995, and then I was put on disability by the doctor.
With the disabling effects of Multiple Sclerosis, I am unable to be gain fully employed or enroll in school, due to being physically impaired because of MS. Some days are better than others, dealing with the ability to drive, get groceries, keeping appointments and daily everyday activities; I live by myself and have no relatives to depend on, only close friends.
When I became divorced for the second time in 2006, I tried to start a bookkeeping business, doing bookkeeping for small businesses. I had six different clients, until the economy caused these businesses to cut back, or close. In January 2011, I decided to get a degree in accounting and specializing in forensic accounting.
When I was working as a supervisor in the bank, especially a branch manager, I did not receive the title or the income that came with the position because I did not have a college degree, I could do the work because I started as a part-time teller, the foundation for all branch’s daily operations. Most branch managers do not know the basic operations of a teller’s line.
I have been on disability for 20 years, and with the ability to go back to school online, I can achieve my goal in accounting with a specialty in forensic accounting. I prefer to be address as Michelle, alternate email address, bouchermick.email.phoenix .edu; daytime phone 802-484-5472, EST, and I cannot be reached by text.
