Integrative Network Design Project
(Kudler Find Foods Inc.)
By: Reggie Ellis
Course NTC/362

While doing research for Kudler Fine Food, their network needs to be trashed and we need to bring this company into the 21st century with the latest technology. I find this important for Kudler because if the company doesn’t upgrade it’s network it will fall behind there is new technology that is expanding every day. What we will do is make sure Kudler is able to keep up with the advances with network systems and install the proper systems and storage units that are compatible with any type of system and making sure no money is wasted. For one if the improper systems are install it will be unless to the company and bad for business, like if we install only enough data to cover only a year’s worth of data then that wouldn’t be cost effective for the company so will have to spend more money getting more storage. This is our first priority is to make sure we have enough data storage to help the company store as much data as possible. One major problem that we see with Kudler is the 56k modems, which provide slow connections speeds. At Kudler all of the host system are running Window 98 well over 10 years, Windows NT servers are at the Delmar and Lajolla sites, XLS servers at the Delmar and Lajolla sites are running office 97. The Novell servers at Delmar and Lajolla sites are running when they were released in 1994, which are just about 20 years old. Every site has a stand alone system, which will need upgrades to provide a redundant power supply for the new systems.

Now the main thing that is a problem is that all the sites are still running 56k modems. This old technology is hindering the speed between each site, which in returns hurts the company, now having the proper connection speed is vital to provide real time updates for profits made each day and inventory

The file servers are where the data files of the volunteers will be kept. The figure above represents an overview of the internetwork routing of the Research and Biology Labs and the Fund Raising Office. The Router EIGRP/RIP is responsible for route redistribution between EIGRP network and RIP network and also between the research lab and biology lab. Likewise, Router OSPF/RIP redistributes routes between the biology lab and the fundraising office. Redistribution between EIGRP and OSPF is required by the fringe router of the Fund Raising Office and the Research Lab. 2. What information will you redistribute between routing protocols? When there is a network with multiple routing protocols present, the must be a process of route redistribution. The dissimilar segments of the network will learn routes based on the protocol that is configured within them. Route redistribution aids spreading this knowledge in a way that it is...

Network Structure and Inter-Organizational Knowledge Sharing Capability

...Network Structure and Inter-organizational Knowledge Sharing Capability ABSTRACT This paper examines how the structure of a supply network can affect the inter-organizational knowledge sharing capability, which is expressed by absorptive capacity and shared identity. The supply network structure is analyzed by two dimensions – formality and centrality. Propositions about the relationships between network structure and knowledge sharing capability are suggested at the end. Subject Areas: Supply chain management, Inter-organizational knowledge sharing, Absorptive capacity, Shared identity, Network structure. 1 1. INTRODUCTION Historically, individual organizations have tried to improve their own performance in an effort to gain competitive advantage. Today, the success of an individual organization depends largely on the performance of its suppliers and customers [1]. Consequently, supply chain or supply network management is one of the critical success factors in today’s marketplace [2]. As organizations increasingly connect with and rely on partners and suppliers in their supply networks, interdependencies among these organizations naturally increase. This increase, in turn, makes today’s supply networks more complex [3], and members of such complex supply networks face many sources of uncertainties – internal as well as external1. Fisher [4] argues that the strategy of the supply network – lean vs. responsive – should be aligned with the product types – functional vs...

Nt1330 Unit 4 Assignment 1

...NT1330 Unit 4 Assignment 1. AD Design Replication Scenario AD Design Replication Scenario To whom it may concern: I am the IT Administrator for the company and I have been asked to give my recommendations for the Active Directory Replication Design of the two new Branches. The first I can recommend for you is that all the information that is needed for each new site is correctly documented and added to the Root Active Directory through the Active Directory sites and services. This is done because the Root AD automatically builds the inter-site replication topology based on the information provided about the new site connections. Each new site’s AD will have one each domain controller that is known as the inter-site topology generator and they are assigned to build the topology at their sites. To add two new branch offices we will need to find a strategy to design a replication process. To implement this we will need to use inter-site replication. Inter-site replication is needed when adding domain controllers located in different sites. We will also need a site link (Site link is a logical, transitive connection between two sites that allows replication to occur) protocol of Remote Procedure Call (RPC) over Internet Protocol (IP) which is the preferred choice for the replication process. This allows you to communicate with network services on various computers and also keep data secure when being transmitted by using both encryption and authentication...

Black Berry vs Apple

...RESEARCH IN MOTION – THE EVOLUTION OF WIRELESS In 2007, Research in Motion (RIM) was a company that many thought was the dominant force in the wireless industry. Their signature product, the BlackBerry, was “synonymous wireless e-mail, spawning countless imitators and creating a product category where none existed before” (Castaldo, J., 2007). Surely RIM was poised for success; however, three short years later, the industry is wondering if RIM can compete with the likes of Apple and Google with their new devices running on their revolutionary iOS and Android operating platforms. The future of wireless industry is constantly improving and the future looks promising for “smartphones” with internet capabilities. The trend shows that more and more cellular phone users are now upgrading their handsets to smartphones. Statistics that tracked sales of phones in the United States showed that in January 2010, “234 million Americans subscribed to mobile phone plans”. Of these, 42.7 million owned internet-accessible smartphones, which represented an 18 percent increase over a three month period (Practical Ecommerce, 2010). RIM was one of the original companies that first changed the way we perceived what a cellular phone could do. The market is once again being revolutionized, in order to stay competitive in this evolving market; RIM needs to decide what steps to take to ensure success in the future. Background and History RIM was one of the first major technology companies to originate...

Ad Design Replication Scenario

...AD Design Replication Scenario Since the two new branch offices will be directly connected to main office you can configure hub and spoke topology and configure the replication schedule as per requirement. I would also recommend in hub site to have minimum two DC for redundancy. In the event of failure if second DC does not exist irrespective of OS version AD replication will be down totally. At least in the hub site you should have additional DC if not present. The first rule of Active Directory design is keeping it simple. Active Directory is very flexible. So flexible that you can design an Active Directory forest that is complex beyond imagination. All Windows Server 2003/08 R2 supports the Active Directory containers of forest, domain, site, and organizational unit (OU). With the only real restriction of one forest per namespace, you can deploy as many domains, sites, and OUs as you deem necessary. To run a replication topology in multisite network, it should be run off of Inter site Topology Generator. This will allow you to replicate between the two new offices. There are three attributes to control the behavior of replication traffic over the site link: cost, schedule, and frequency. Assigning a cost to a site link object allows the administrator to define the path that replication will take. The schedule of the site link object determines when the link is available to replicate information. A site link’s frequency determines how often information will be replicated...
