Interpersonal Skills - are skills needed to relate or deal well with others.
A. Characteristics 1. Social communication and Interaction - A skill in which we need in socializing with others. 2. Active Listening - stick on what the person is saying and not to your own interpretation. 3. Appropriate Tone and Gesture - an important skill that interpreted whether good or bad. 4. Proper Leadership - measures the capability of an individual to handle a certain problems and situations. B. Skill 1. Basic Interpersonal Communicative Skill - are language skills needed when interacting face-to-face in actual situation. 2. Social Skills - include practice of social rules and relations created, communicated and exchange either verbally or non-verbally. 3. Soft Skills - refer to the cluster of personality traits, social graces, communication, language, personal habits and positive outlook that characterize one's relationship with others. Case Approach: 1. Recognition - " Two Heads are Better than One" 2. Definition - activities when working things such as projects, persons with good interpersonal skills can increase in participation and can cooperate with other members as well. 3. Selection - leaders with good interpersonal skills can contribute and cooperate well with it's co-member in group activities. 4.Cooperation - the co-members would not feel that their leader is bossing them around. 5.Interpretation - a person with good interpersonal skills can interact and participate well in group activities he/she can communicate with his/her co-member comfortably. 6. Alternative - people should have positive interpersonal skills so that they can socialize with other people without hesitation. 7. Application - interpersonal skills are necessary to motivate others to become a good mentor to decide wisely and to delegate work. 8. Evaluation - people with positive interpersonal skills can have a team work for collaboration and in obeying and following the group decision to develop self confidence to build relationships with other people and effective communication.

Developing Interpersonal Skills - Developing interpersonal skills makes someone relate well to others and establishes harmonious relationships with different groups of people. THINGS NEEDED TO CONSIDER:
1. Communication Skills - learn to say what you think and feel. Be direct and specific about your message for the person to completely understand you.
2. Listening Skills - never interrupt others while talking. Concentrate on what the others are saying and not to your own interpretation.
3.Conflict and Problem Solving - learn to be positive even the situation is negative. analyze the situation like knowing the reason of the conflict, the alternative solutions, and learning what others think of your proposed solutions.
4. Anger Management - learn not to be too emotional, rather, be logical. study the causes of your anger, control yourself by not speaking immediately or deciding impulsively.
5. Overcome Shyness - be friendly and get out of your shell. It is impossible to deal with others to socialize and to make new friends if you are very shy.
6. Develop Sense of Humor - learn how to crack appropriate jokes in conversation and avoid too serious discussions. Avoid jokes that are offensive, dirty and humiliating to other people. Case Approach:
1. Recognition - man is a social animal, not a beast;therefore he needs to deal with others appropriately.
2. Definition - man should socialize with other people. He should overcome his shyness so that he can communicate well with other. But before he deal with others, he should deal with them appropriately. Know them first.
3. Selection - people with good interpersonal skills can communicate well with others. One should develop their interpersonal skills to have a harmonious relationship with other people.
4. Collection - people who have poor interpersonal skills don't know what to do when dealing with others. He should overcome his shyness and he should have a good sense of humor. People with positive interpersonal skills can easily deal with others.
5. Interpretation - man is a social animal that should communicate with others and not a beast that hides himself with others.
6. Alternative - in dealing with others, one should have a positive interpersonal skills and he should not be shy to other people.
7. Application - in group activity, people should deal with others , to have a better participation in the activity.
8. Evaluation - people should develop their interpersonal skills. Developing this skills can help him in dealing with others.

Group Interaction - in a team, the member who can relate well possesses positive interpersonal skills.
A. Ways to Human Relation
1. Individual to Individual - between you and your mother or father, you and you seatmate, or you and your friend.
2. Individual to Group - between you and your classmates, your teacher and your entire class, and the principal with his/her faculty and staff.
3. Group to Group - relations exist among group of vendors, group of teachers from private and public schools, and teams of basketball players. B. Ineffective Group Interaction
1. One-member Domination - the member of the group is unconsciously grabbing the power of the entire group by solely deciding for the group and coerci8ng some members.
2. Conflict on Attitude - some members have certain attitudes that are undesirable for the rest of the members.
3. Resistance to Change - there are some members in a group who cannot accept some changes, thus making the group uncreative and unproductive.
4. Hidden Agendas - some members have hidden motives for joining the group. Usually, their agendas are against the groups' norms or interests.
5. Poor Leadership - if the leader of the group does not know the direction of the group or where he/she will lead the group, the member will love their interest and the group might break up. Case Approach:
1. Recognition - "Overcoming Barriers"
2. Definition - conflict or barriers usually appears in group interactions and the group should overcome this.
3. Selection - this barriers can affect the group and it may ruin the whole group.
4. Collection - this barriers or conflicts can affect the participation of the group in certain activities.
5. Interpretation - if the conflicts or barriers appear in a group, the members of the group should do something.
6. Alternative Conclusion - to avoid conflicts or barriers, each member should be considerate to each other.
7. Application - each member should participate well in a group and respect each member.
8. Evaluation - overcoming barriers should be done by each member of the group for a better participation and have a creative and productive work.

Practicing Interpersonal Skill
Team Building - is the process that demands time and effort from everyone involved and the process may take several minutes to several days.
Social Activities - are activities done in a group or with other people. These activities require members to develop team work or team building and to work independently. PROPOSES:
A. Team Building
1. bringing out the best in a team and it's members.
2. ensuring individuals' development.
3. learning one another strengths and weaknesses.
4. Improving communication
5. practicing leadership skills
6. making the workplace enjoyable.
7. enhancing ability to work closely together as a team.

Team Building -team building activities are often used in meetings, presentations, workshops, trainings, seminaries, educational programs and corporate training among college, high school, middle school, elementary, pre-school, school groups, sport teams, teacher training, youth work, and therapeutic and correctional setting.
