IR Spectroscopy is one of the best spectroscopy which give us full information about the internal structure of compound . It contain varies no of absorption band that band provide us complete detail about the structure of compound. molecule having change in dipole moment absorb infrared radiation .mean to say after the absorption of IR radiation these molecule show change in dipole moment.This vibrational transion is known as infrared transition.
Those vibrational transitions which are not accompanied by the change in dipol moment are not observed are inactive transition .The vibrational transition of C=O ,O-H ,N-H are the example of infrared transition.
When IR ‘light’ fall on molecule the bond absorbed energy and responding by vibration.

we use grating to changes these radiation to monochromatic light .The light pass through sample is called sample beam .Another beam which we use is the refrence beam the light pass through refrence is refrence beam.There is difference between intensity of sample and refrence beam .These two beams allow the light to fall on mirror M with the help two mirror m1 and m2. The mirror M is rotating mirror it reflect the refrence and sample beam to monochromatic grating .Grating is also rotating it send single frequence to the detector .Detector convert IR to electrical energy.The electrical energy is then amplified by using amplifier due to difference in beam alternating current start flowing .The amplifier is attached with small motor and it is further coupled with a recorder it use to draw absorption band to calibration
